Staying on top of the news can be a daunting task. There certainly isn’t a shortage of news services and sites for you to look through, but it can be difficult to find one that fits your preferences and style. That’s where Trigger comes in.

Developed by MobiusBobs Inc., Trigger is an incredibly useful free news app for iPhone that lets you easily customize your reading experience.

It helps you find articles you’re actually interested in and also be one of the first people to read about a newsworthy item.

Concept and Functionality:

Personally I love news apps that compile articles from all around the web. No single news source can capture every single headline, and apps like Trigger allow you to customize your reading experience so you’re really only seeing what interests you.

Setting up an account with the app is incredibly easy and once you’re in, you can begin browsing all of the articles that Trigger has compiled.

One of the things I really like about Trigger is that the app tries to stay one step ahead of other news sources by predicting which articles and topics will begin trending.

This keep you, the reader, on top of the latest news without having to hear about it from sources like Facebook.

When it comes to usability, I think Trigger is incredibly easy to navigate and use.

It offers plenty of great features without a cluttered interface or clunky navigation system. It takes a little while to familiarize yourself with the app, but everything is pretty much self-explanatory.

Overall, I can definitely see why Trigger has become so popular among the iPhone community. As I mentioned before, I love apps like this and I can definitely see myself using Trigger on a regular basis.

The best part about the app is that it’s not out to necessarily replace your favorite news app, but instead compliment it.

Trigger includes all of the usual features you’ve come to expect from news apps.

One of the things that the app focuses heavily on is social sharing, so users can easily share an article via Facebook and other social networks. There’s even a counter at the bottom of each article which shows how many times it has been shared.

Similar to Reddit, Trigger lets you upvote and downvote articles. This helps the community get an idea as to which articles are truly important and worth reading, which really contributes to the overall goal of the app; creating a custom reading experience that’s focused on news that matters.

Trigger is available to download from the App Store for free and is designed for iPhone. There are no in-app purchases to worry about, nor are there any ads.

Overall, this is a fantastic news app that definitely keeps readers ahead of the curve when it comes to trending topics.
