If you’re looking for a simple fitness app that will help track your progress without a clunky interface and complicated settings, Dynetix Fitness for iPhone and Apple Watch is worth checking out.
Dynetix Fitness offers powerful workout tracking features with an intuitive interface that gets the job done quickly and easily.
Concept and Functionality:
Personally I believe that fitness apps should be simple to begin with so they don’t take away from your workout experience.
The last thing you want to do when you hit the gym or before a run is fiddle with your iPhone for 5 minutes trying to navigate a flashy interface and fancy tidbits.
Dynetix Fitness, by Dynetix Design Solutions Inc, is very easy to set up. Initially you’re asked to grant permission for the app to pull data from the native Health app, as well as enable location services.
Next you’re asked to enter your weight, but initially the screen asks for the value in kilograms. I double-checked on this in the app’s settings tab and it says pounds, so it looks like a minor mixup.
I really like the clean Apple Watch interface that gives you key information at a glance and let’s you easily control the app.
Another big plus is the fact that you can toggle GPS tracking, as well, so you can conserve battery life.
My favorite part about Dynetix Fitness is the fact that you can easily set up individual goals for your workout session.
All you have to do is tap the goal button next to each tracked item and input your value. The app automatically alerts you when you achieve your goal.
This is a great feature because it allows you to customize the app to fit your personal workout goals instead of being forced to set goals like many other fitness apps.
Dynetix Fitness also logs your workout sessions so you can easily access them at a later time. Lastly, the app features Apple Watch compatibility so it’s even easier to track your workouts.
Dynetix Fitness is available to download from the App Store for $1.99 and is designed for iPhone and Apple Watch. Personally I think the price is decent seeing as users who enjoy the app will get a lot of use out of it.
Overall, this is a great fitness tracking app for users who aren’t looking for extras like social sharing, global leaderboards, and other fancy features.
It’s simple and straightforward, which makes Dynetix Fitness a very viable fitness tool for everyone.
Dynetix Fitness requires iOS 8.2 or later and is compatible with iPhone and iPod touch. This app is optimized for iPhone 5, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
