Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and this list of 10 iPhone and iPad apps should help you plan the perfect day with your special someone. From sending greeting cards to making plans and playing games, you definitely won’t have a boring Valentine’s Day.

Apps for Sending Greeting Cards

justWink (American Greetings – Free) – Valentine’s Day is definitely a “Hallmark Holiday”, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you have to go out and buy a card. Personalized greeting cards mean much more, and justWink lets you quickly and easily create your own meaningful card right on your iPhone.

There’s a nice amount of variety for every occasion, too, and you can easily send cards to your Valentine via postal mail, email, SMS, Twitter, and Facebook.

Ink Cards (Sincerely Inc. – Free) – While justWink focuses on the digital aspect of greeting cards, sometimes you just want to send a physical card to someone. Ink Cards is definitely the go-to app for this purpose.

This awesome service lets you customize and mail cards to anyone for any occasion. You can even create cards ahead of time and set a delivery date so the card arrives on time. Plus, Ink Cards is universally compatible with iPhone and iPad.

Apps for Making Plans

Gravy (timeRAZOR – Free) – No Valentine’s Day app list would be complete without a few apps that will help you make plans.

This is especially true seeing as the 14th falls on a Saturday. Gravy is a fantastic iPhone app that allows you to see what events are going on locally. Simply tell the app what kind of mood you’re in, and it’ll display a list of suggested events for you to peruse.

You can even purchase tickets and get directions within the app.

Eventbrite (Eventbrite – Free) – Similar to Gravy, this particular app also allows you to search for local events and purchase tickets.

The main difference between this app and Gravy is that it allows you to create and manage events of your own.

Personally I would suggest downloading both apps and searching for events, as it’s possible that one app features an event or two that the other doesn’t.

Apps for Dining Out

Open Table for iPhone

Open Table (OpenTable, Inc – Free) – No Valentine’s Day app list would be complete without mentioning Open Table. This incredible iOS app allows you to quickly make reservations at over 20,000 different restaurants.

Seeing as going out to dinner is a very popular tradition, this app is a must-have if you want to get a table at your favorite restaurant. Plus you can earn reward points for future use.

Yelp (Yelp – Free) – Like Open Table, Yelp is a must for anyone who dines out. This is especially true if you’re entertaining the idea of trying something new. This community-driven review app will help you find the perfect restaurant and will hopefully eliminate any surprises.

Apps for Dining In

Yummly (Yummly – Free) – If you’d rather dine in, you’ll want to be prepared when making dinner for your special someone. Yummly is an awesome combination of recipes and an integrated shopping list.

Perhaps your sweetheart absolutely loves a particular ingredient, but you don’t know what to cook. Yummly lets you search for recipes containing certain ingredients, which is the perfect solution to fixing up a nice gastronomic surprise.

KitchenPad™ Timer (Touch Village Inc – $1.99) – All of us know how easy it is to lose track of time when cooking a meal, and Valentine’s Day is the worst time to burn your meal. KitchenPad is the perfect solution because it lets you keep track of timers for each stove burner, as well as the oven.

You can set up to 9 timers and even save them for future reference.

Games for Having Fun Together

RockIt Karaoke (Jose Zamora – Free) – Valentine’s Day is all about spending time together, and no app list would be complete without a few fun games to play together.

RockIt Karaoke brings tens of thousands of songs to your iPhone or iPad, all streamed from YouTube.

You’ll definitely have fun singing along to your favorite tunes. The app even allows you to record your session via video or microphone.

If you purchase the “All Access” upgrade for $2.99, you can even stream karaoke videos to Chromecast and Apple TV. Plus you can export recordings to your device.

Charades! Free (FatChicken Studios – Free) – Who doesn’t love a good game of charades?

This incredibly fun game is the perfect way to unwind after a long day of activities.

There’s a ton of variety, so you won’t have to worry about running out of ideas.

There are over 100 categories to choose from, and the developers are actively adding new cards every week.
