How fast are you really? No, we’re not talking about running a mile, or even your IQ score. We’re talking about furiously tapping at the screen, to destroy tiny colorful blocks.

That’s the essence of Zuku Blox, from Jacob Pickens, which will demand the best of your reflexes. Even if you let a single box slide past you on the screen, the jig is up! So be quick, then be quicker.

Zuku Blox is a relatively simple game, but don’t let its simplicity fool you. This one packs on a truckload of frenetic fun and as many features as it can muster. It has 15 + Game Center Achievements, and encourages the Game Center and leaderboard in order to keep things as competitive as possible.

You’ll definitely have more fun with this title if you attempt to hit the leaderboard for new highs, and will be surprised at the skill required to lock in that sought after Top Ten spot.

The game will get harder as you play, and you won’t be allowed a very high margin of error. Actually, you won’t be allowed any margin for error! Eventually, these blocks zip past you at incredible speeds.

The game also has a few different background songs to keep you grooving, including; “Wizard House” by Azureflux, “Graveyard Shift” by Azureflux, and the classic title “Wake The F**k Up” by The Prodigy. We’ve got to give this title accolades for valuing music as an integral part of gaming as well.

Concept and Functionality:

This game is pretty straightforward when it comes to functionality. First, you’ll think that the game is pretty easy, and you may even get bored. About 20 seconds in, things start to pick up, and you’ll realize that Zuku Blox isn’t for chumps after all.

You may even be tempted to bring two fingers to the screen to keep up! In regards to functionality, the game is pretty lightweight, never crashes, and is colorful as well.

Some blocks are green, some blue, and as mentioned, there are a few different theme songs for your listening pleasure. The concept is strong enough, and this one earns its keep.

Overall Value:

There’s nothing like a free game to brighten your day. Download, strap in, and get to tapping!

ZQRZuku Blox requires iOS 7.1 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. This app is optimized for iPhone 5. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
