The app world has redefined both entertainment and communication for decades to come. Now, new apps are arising that are redefining medicine as well.
By holding your finger over the camera and flash, the app begins to immediately measure your vital signs. How’s that for convenient? No trips to the doctors, or the hospital, and best yet, no needles! Pulse Oximeter is an incredible app and is redefining modern day fitness and recreation.
If you’re an athletic trainer, a coach, a health fanatic, or just someone curious about medicine, this app is a must. It easily assesses your pulse and blood oxygen saturation, records a history of your levels, allows you to share your results and more.
To calibrate, just keep your finger steady over the flash and camera. In about thirty seconds, you’ve been totally measured. The app is designed and optimized for iOS 7 and comes with an extremely simple tutorial to ensure you get the most out of the app.
Concept and Functionality:
What’s not to love about this app? At under five bucks and 3.2MB, this app brings the future of medicine, directly to your fingertips. Literally.
With health insurance on the rise, who couldn’t use a little bit of extra medical attention? The app boasts a clean white and bright red, emulating an ideal medical feel.
Personally, I’ve never seen anything quite like this app. At the #WWDC 2014 the world watched as Apple took the first steps to re-prioritize health and fitness within their software rollouts. The Pulse Oximeter fits within this vein, and maximizes the full capability of iPhone technology.
It’s hard to justify relatively pricey apps. However, this one fully earns its price tag and leaves the consumer better off for having downloaded it. If you’re looking to bolster your health, or simply want to try out some new technology, this app is what you’re looking for.
You certainly won’t want to stop seeing your doctor, but hey, at least now you can have a better handle some key health metrics in between visits.
