In the vein of both Snapchat and Instagram, we’ve got a new and exciting photo app to present to iPhone and Android users around the globe. DateMyPics, from DaVinci MT, is a photo sharing app that boasts unparalleled spontaneity and edge.

The app allows you to receive random pictures from other DateMyPics users and choose whether to reply or move on. In the same way that chat roulette added a hilarious degree of surprise to the old “blind date” concept, this innovative photo app utilizes the thrill of the unknown to draw users in.

You’ll need to allow push notifications and fill in your basic info when getting started with the app. Then, if you wish to use this app romantically, you’ll want to select your gender and your preference in other genders.

You can allow random pictures and even specify the type of pictures you feel comfortable receiving.

DateMyPics also boasts a geolocation feature that allows users to see where a picture was originally taken. Some people may just be looking to kill some time, others may wish to spark a romantic interest, but regardless this app does a marvelous job of entertaining people from across the board.

Pictures will also be logged in a “History” tab so that you can keep track of connections, but deleting these logs is a breeze.

Concept and Functionality:

This app has earned an impeccable rating because it’s found a niche function that countless iPhone users will find delightful. This app is lighthearted, fun and functional.

In general, it does a fantastic of bundling already popular functions into a quick and lightweight app. The app is updated frequently, and the latest 1.01 update came out less than a week ago.

You’ll need to be 17 or older to download the app, considering there are no filters on what other users may be inspired to send.

The only major way that this app could be improved would be through the integration of a video function. The same way that the Vine App challenged Instagram’s modernity, Instragram’s quick adaptation of a video function delivered a blow to the Vine App, and expanded it’s user base.

If DateMyPics included video, it would be the all in one package for sure.

Overall Value:

This is a free social networking app that plenty of people will find very enjoyable. If you’re interested in meeting new people and living by the seat of your pants, DateMyPics is going to scratch that spontaneous itch.

DQRDateMyPics requires iOS 7.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. This app is optimized for iPhone 5. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
