When you want to meet one friend for a bite to eat, it’s not very complicated to schedule. Pick up the phone, text, call or email them, and it’s either a yes or a no on the other end.
When it comes to getting a group of people together, sometimes things do not go as smoothly. Some people can’t make a particular date, the time doesn’t work for others, that location is too far… how do you keep track of all this?
Concept and Functionality:
To get a number of people together, it takes a lot of texts, sore thumbs and patience for an event to work perfectly. You need to reference other people’s calendars, your own calendar and make sure to secure a location that will work for everyone.
It might just be something as innocent as lunch, but it can still be a pain to organize. Klutch, on the other hand, combines all of the resources needed to make a plan happen into one very helpful and stunning app.
When you first get to Klutch, if you are throwing an event, you can go to the “compose” icon and choose all of the people you want to invite to your event. Once you do that, add a title (if you want) as well as a time and location to set the event in stone, as well as a brief message to give attendees more information about the event. Now all you have to do is wait.
If you’re on the receiving end of the invitation, you can always use SMS, but the experience is much better if your friends all download the app. That way, you’ll be able to see via the app who else can attend the event as well as vote for other event ideas, in case the organizer changes his or her mind.
I’ve never seen a calendar app with so many great and useful features. A lot of utility apps are geared to be used in an individual, and not in a collaborative way. Apps of the latter variety tend to get confusing. But if any app does it right, it’s definitely Klutch.
For starters, each plan that’s created, whether you made it or you’ve been invited, is given it’s own “page,” where you can see who can and can’t go. What’s even cooler is that within an event, you can also chat with everyone who’s part of it. So if the location has suddenly changed, no problem — just tell everyone through the chat, and they’ll see it instantly.
Better yet, maps and navigation are integrated into the app, as well as the ability to sync your events in Klutch with your own personal calendar, so you won’t forget about your upcoming appointments!
I can’t express how much I love Klutch. It’s interactive, it’s neat and clean and solves so many problems that people have when it comes to getting people together.
You won’t have to deal with calendar attachments ever again, and you won’t need to deal with impossibly long email threads either. Klutch will make your life a whole lot easier.
Klutch requires iOS 5.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. This app is optimized for iPhone 5. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
