Unlike other such apps where this “color feature” effect must be applied during a post-editing process, One Color Pro lets users do so in real-time with no need for extra editing.
Just like its name indicates, this app allows iOS users to select a single color to be featured while taking videos or photos on their chosen iOS devices.
These photos can be taken directly through One Color Pro, and no post-editing is needed at all in order to achieve this effect; instead, single colors are showcased in real time when using One Color Pro.
In addition to letting users choose a single color in the “basic” mode of the app, One Color Pro users are also given the option of selecting the “advanced” mode to direct what color tolerance should be allowed.
The color tolerance option makes it possible to get very clear, specific colors to showcase on a grayscale background very easily.
Once a photo is taken, it can then be saved to the user’s iOS device or emailed to be exported to social media platforms like Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook if so desired.
Personally, I was impressed with how easy One Color Pro was to use and how precisely the selected color could be showcased in each photo. Other features of the app include custom animations, real time image processing, and front/back camera support.
Appearance and Layout:
Anyone who loves a good, simple, streamlined layout will be thoroughly pleased with One Color Pro.
The app features a smooth, user-friendly interface that allows users to quickly choose between photo and video and to also select what color they would like featured prior to shooting.
The graphics for this app are simple, practical, and aesthetically pleasing, and the screen is never too cluttered at any one time.
In fact, the screen is never cluttered at all! A simple tutorial can be viewed if desired, but this tutorial is not forced onto first time users if they do not wish to scroll through it.
One Color Pro currently costs $1.99 through the iTunes Store. This cost, although certainly higher than the cost for any free photo apps, still seems to be a reasonable price for the features provided through One Color Pro.
The target audience for this app appears to be individuals who are particularly fond of the “solo-color” look on photos or videos, and the layout and features of this app work together to make achieving this look easier than ever before.
However, anyone not attracted to this particular appearance will simply have no need to invest in One Color Pro.
One Color Pro requires iOS 6.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. This app is optimized for iPhone 5. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
