Watch Series AdBlock Video Downloader, developed by Benjamin Loewe, is a new app for iPhone and iPad that allows users to save videos from various sites to their iDevice.

Concept and Functionality:

While it’s fun to spend time surfing YouTube, sometimes you come across a video you’d love to save.

The same is true for videos posted to social networking sites like Facebook. Unfortunately it’s fairly difficult to save these videos, but the process is now quite a bit easier thanks to Watch Series AdBlock Video Downloader.

To use the app, simply go to your favorite video site using the built-in web browser. Once you’ve found the video you’re looking to download, simply press “Download”. It’s that easy!

For YouTube videos you’ll have to use the “Magic Stick” button in the browser’s share menu since direct downloads are not supported.

Watch Series AdBlock Video Downloader then performs a conversion and takes you to the video. All you have to do is allow the clip to play for a second or two, then close the video and give your clip a name.

True to its name, it does seem like Watch Series AdBlock Video Downloader does a decent job of blocking ads. While it won’t get rid of embedded video ads like the ones that play for the first few seconds of a clip, it’s still useful since those ads are not downloaded with the video. I did notice, though, that videos didn’t download very fast even over LTE, which was a bit strange. It’s not a huge dealbreaker, but it’s definitely something worth mentioning.

Watch Series AdBlock Video Downloader includes quite a few features that definitely add to the overall usability of the app. For example, downloads aren’t limited solely to popular video sites like YouTube.

The app assures users that pretty much any embedded video can be downloaded. This means videos on Facebook and Twitter can be downloaded to your device.

We would like to point out that the developer is very responsive to suggestions and feedback. In fact, he has recently updated the app to make it very easy to download videos from Facebook and save them to your camera roll. No rating of the app is required as had been the case.

I also want to mention that I had a bit of trouble using Watch Series AdBlock Video Downloader, and I found out that it was because the options to download videos and block ads were disabled.

A quick toggle of both of these options remedied the problem, though. While in the settings page, users can also set a passcode lock for the app and even a personalized homepage.

Watch Series AdBlock Video Downloader can be downloaded from the App Store for free, but you’ll need to purchase the $1.99 upgrade in order to continue blocking ads and downloading videos beyond the trial limitations.

It’s also worth mentioning the fact that there are two separate versions of the app, one for iPhone and one for iPad.

Overall, Watch Series AdBlock Video Downloader is certainly worth trying if you’re looking for a handy app to download streaming videos to your iDevice.

I love this app. I love the look of it with the red movie screen curtains but I would give this app 4 stars if this damn thing would show videos actually being downloaded. You can’t even see the download bar. Why isn’t there a color to show the damn video being recorded and even worse, all multiple downloads are all scrounged together on one bar. How could the developer of this app not see this problem??IT IS SO FRUSTRATING, which is why I give it only 2 STARS!!! Why can the developer not notice this????? I deleted the app and will not use it again until THIS ANNOYING PROBLEM IS FIXED!!!!!!!

Do you plan to further develop Watch series so it can be used on iPhone and iPad?
