Color Pulse, a game by NDI Studios, is a unique game that combines relaxing visual effects with well matched music. Designed to be both challenging and artistically appealing, Color Pulse offers a unique addition to the many iOS games already available today.
Color Pulse’s name is really an accurate description of the game itself. Featuring colorful orbs that gracefully float across the screen and pulsate to soothing sounds of pleasant music.
Color Pulse is a very relaxing game.
In Color Pulse, players are given the simple task of connecting like-colored orbs into the longest chains/groupings possible before they explode into tiny floating fragments. Controlled through simple “drag and place” finger sliding, this app is beautifully easy to learn, even on a user’s first attempt.
Unlike many other app games, Color Pulse’s slow pace makes it a great way to unwind and de-stress at the end of a long day; instead of causing players to feel rushed and frustrated, Color Pulse’ keeps the mood relaxed.
Although the relatively slow pace of Color Pulse may not appeal to users who enjoy time-focused, fast-paced games, Color Pulse will definitely still be seen as a great addition to an iOS device’s app library by many users.
Appearance and Layout:
Color Pulse is arranged to allow for the greatest user convenience at all times. Users are greeted with a home screen that can be selected to bring them to various game options, including “Classic,” “Avoidance,” and “Elimination,” and navigating between these options is easily accomplished.
Equally easy to accomplish is personalizing the game’s settings; users can quickly find how to turn off the in-game music if they so desire to do so.
The graphics of Color Pulse are simple, but this simplicity flows perfectly with the relaxed mood of the game.
All of the colors are clearly displayed against a black background; users shouldn’t have any difficulty with differentiating between the differently colored orbs.
Color Pulse is currently sold through the iTunes Store for $0.99.
This is a reasonable fee, yet with the many completely free games offered today, actually purchasing Color Pulse would mean that a user is extremely interested in what the game has to offer.
Overall, while Color Pulse is a fun game, it is still a slow game, and many iOS users probably won’t be very interested in purchasing it if they can’t try it out for free first.
Color Pulse requires iOS 5.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
