If you’re a Twitter user, you’re probably either a die-hard proponent of the micro-blogging phenomenon (like myself, and you can find me @adamitkoff) or you couldn’t really give a flying fish, but you signed up anyway.
Perhaps you’re totally boycotting and haven’t ever created a Twitter account, but if that’s the case, you just might be in the minority by now.
Regardless, most users have their gripes with iOS Twitter apps, which seem to update every few weeks, dead-set on squeezing out more micro interactions, favorites and retweets from its user base.
One drawback of Twitter for iOS has always been the amount of scrolling, and general organization of the app. If you follow more than ten accounts and haven’t checked the app in a few days, it’s more than likely that you’ll have to scroll until your thumb cramps to catch up.
This app comes with a whole myriad of functions that are designed to make your Twitter experience more seamless than ever. For instance, Driplr allows you to have continuous timeline syncing, where your feed will keep up with current information even when you are not using the app.
One of the most savvy and interesting features is the “Face-detected Timeline scanning” which allows you to watch tweets simply by looking at your phone (the app must be running and active).
Instead, the Timeline is always updated even when not using the app..
The app also allows you to curate your content with more precision. Without unfollowing your belligerent friend who is tweeting every minute to keep up with his favorite football game, you can now mute him instead. You can mute users who you may want to continue following, but seem to be getting on your nerves at the moment.
Additionally, filters let you sort and mute tweets, including messages. And push-notifications alert you if you’re falling behind on your timeline and have missed a series of important tweets. This app is most certainly feature heavy and offers a huge amount of options that comprehensive Twitter users will find very useful.
Concept and Functionality:
This app is designed for iOS 7 and is optimized for iPhone 5. It has a sleek design that matches the general aesthetic tone of the original Twitter app, and organizes tweets in an extremely compact and concise way.
The real Twitter should actually pay attention here, as some of these improvements make the original Twitter app look both plain and cumbersome at the same time. Driplr (while the name might remind you more of a leaky faucet) is spot on when it comes to addressing the acute needs of the most dedicated Twitter users.
We’ve given this app a stellar rating, not just for its functionality, but for its sheer ambition as well. The app takes Twitter ailments that you never even new existed, and improves them ten-fold.
While the app isn’t for everyone, heavy Twitter users will definitely find it a must.
