Bouncy Ball Free
iPhone Game Review by TheiPhoneAppReview.com
If you’re starting to get bored of your other games, there’s one game that’s sure to keep you entertained for hours at a time.
Concept and Functionality:
In Bouncy Ball, you start out playing in the Underworld, and if you’re able to make it through that world, you progress higher up, through the sky, into space and all of the planets until you reach horsehead, the most challenging world of them all.
You’re given the option of playing either in easy or hard mode. Either way, the general concept of the game is the same: get your bouncy ball to the gold star in order to move on.
Using the game is simple – all you have to do is press down either on the right side or the left side of your screen to navigate your ball.
The worlds, on the other hand, are a different story. The more worlds you pass through, the more obstacles you are introduced to. And if you’re thinking just how difficult these worlds can get, just wait until you get your hands on Bouncy Ball. From beams to trampolines to spikes and falling blocks, the sky’s the limit in this game.
As a simple, 2-D mobile game, the graphics aren’t anything impressive, but more complicated graphics would have taken more away from the game. With this simple layout as well as the accurately implicit feel of how the game works, it’s refreshing not to have to remember what each obstacle does or what movements do what.
As for features, you certainly have a lot to choose from – think 20 different worlds and 21 different levels within those worlds. Unless you plan on doing absolutely nothing for a very long time, you have a lot of ground to cover in this game.
What’s great is that since there are so many levels, there’s always something to look forward to in terms of the design of the maze. Will these lasers go this way? At what speed should I approach the next blocks?
On the other hand, however, aside from the many levels and various maze designs, there aren’t any other features. Sure, you can turn the sounds and effects on or off on the homepage, but there are no options to share scores through social media or even build your own levels.
But then again, the game itself is plenty of entertainment itself, so the lack of features doesn’t take away from the experience.
At first glance, a game like Bouncy Ball sounds tedious, considering that the game mostly involves simply moving the ball around. But once you start playing the game, you’ll realize after a couple of levels that there’s more to Bouncy Ball than just navigation.
Strategy is needed so you can combat gaps and spikes. Nimbleness is another key characteristic that will help with quick decisions. Creativity is useful for figuring out how to approach the wide variety of obstacles the game presents.
Sure, Bouncy Ball can get challenging early on, but work at it and you’ll be rolling through those levels in no time!
Bouncy Ball requires iOS 5.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. This app is optimized for iPhone 5. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
