in:play music player by bigbluecouch brings a trendy new interface to the traditional iOS music player. Sold for $1.99 through the iTunes Store, in:play promises to make it easier than ever before to enjoy your music library.

In:play is a music player that seeks to offer iOS users with a newer, better way of enjoying their music library. Specifically speaking, the interface of in:play makes listening to music incredibly fluid and simple; the app features an impressive “swipe” interface, allowing users to simply swipe to quickly scroll through songs (or artists or albums).

Onscreen volume control and quick pause/play tapping action makes it easy to control music, and the album art displays for the background of each song. Personalizing the features of your in:play app is also an option, as is sharing your playlists with friends via Facebook.

Using in:play is incredibly simple, and I certainly found myself impressed with the features of the app as a whole.

Appearance and Layout:

Much of the praise for in:play has been surrounding its appearance and layout, and even a first-time user of the app should be able to ascertain why such praise is warranted.

The bland, white background of the traditional iOS music player is replaced with a more visually appealing option, and the use of album art in the background of each song leaves no room for any confusion of who a particular artist may be.

Perhaps most pleasing for me personally was the layout of in:play; the app manages to provide an impressive number of music/playing features without causing the screen to be overly cluttered at any one time.

For $1.99, in:play may be viewed as a unessential purchase by some iOS users. After all, all iOS devices already have a built-in music player. However, for anyone who is frustrated with the somewhat bland layout of that built-in music player, and can appreciate a more elegant solution, in:play is a great alternative. For these individuals, the price of in:play will make perfect sense.

Overall, for its target audience, in:play is a great music app that will significantly improve their music app experience, and for a decently practical price.
