Spender – Personal Finance Manager
iPhone App Review by TheiPhoneAppReview.com
Spender – Personal Finance Manager, from Worms Studio, is easy to use and can take a novice and turn him into a financial genius in a matter of minutes (or at least make it a little bit easier to stay out of debt). The app has a privacy option that will allow you to put a passcode on the app (we recommend this option) and keep others from snooping around through your valuable records.
The app itself is simply designed and sports a large keypad in the center of the app. Then, the app is sub-divided into five central categories; “Food”, “Shopping”, “Car”, “Payments” and “Leisure”. You can then add and save your expenses at your discretion and fit them into the corresponding category. Really, it’s as simple as that.
Concept and Functionality:
The app runs smoothly and looks great on new iOS platforms. There isn’t too much room for improvement here, as the ability of the app to remain trim and generally light-weight is definitely one of its greatest advantages.
The concept of course isn’t entirely original, but it doesn’t need to be. The goal here is to allow our financial records to be as cleanly organized as possible, and in this way the app succeeds swimmingly.
You can also track your incomes with this app, and it’s no more difficult than pressing a big green button. When it comes to bringing you everything you need, this app does the job.
The only notable pitfall is that there is no corresponding website that you can save onto as well. The app might win a lot of points if it actually had a subscription oriented website where one could also track expenses saved via the app. This sort of diversification is lacking, but really can set apps like this apart.
At only $0.99, this app can pay for itself many times over. It’s not going to turn you into a millionaire, but it can save you significant dollars by making you more aware of what is coming in and what is coming out.
There are other apps on the market that have similar functions, but rarely are they quite as simple and straightforward as this one.
We think that trimming the fat is really what a good expense-tracker app is all about, and for that reason the “Spender” app is worth every penny. If you like you can go here to see a video they’ve made available.
Spender – Personal Finance Manager requires iOS 5.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. This app is optimized for iPhone 5. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
