Today’s application has a special place in our hearts. As native Southerners, from an immediately long time ago, we have a penchant for all things beer can studded and draw-inducing. This is why we’re so tickled to be bringing you a review of Hill Bill, brought to you by B27, today.

The app is one hilarious combination of stereotypes and action gameplay, producing a mixture that is every bit as fun to play as it is simple. If you’re into smashing things and shooting rednecks across dangerous courses, then read onward: Our full review is below.

Concept and Gameplay

The core idea behind Hill Bill rests on the hopes and aspirations of one single, Evil Knieval-style enthusiast with a penchant for building home made ramps. To get his career going, you’ll need to fire him across level after level of flaming hoops, junker cars, swamps, junkyards, and even a circus or two.

As you go, depending on how well you’ve lined up your shot, you’ll collect points by doing tricks and completing runs. If you don’t happen to complete a run . . . Well, the entertainment value is still there in abundance!

The perk here is that, as you get bucks to spend in-game, you can then unlock cooler outfits, motorcycles, and levels. By the end of the title, you’ll be rocking the full Elvis gear, and riding some pretty nifty wheels. Though, you won’t notice quite as much as most racing / auto games, as Hill Bill is still pretty focused on the wrecked side of the entertainment.

Either way, it’s a brilliant outing, and we enjoyed the gameplay offered here immensely.

Design and Graphics

However, what truly makes Hill Bill a success is not its gameplay—though that is very good—but rather it’s incredibly vivacious sense of humor. We busted a gut multiple times playing through the game.

Primarily, you’ll find the most joy in Hill Bill’s voice, though almost everything else about the game has been engineered to make you smile as well.

The layouts are fabulously cartoony, the other characters are just as absurd, and the entire package is guaranteed to put a spring in your step.

To put it simply, Hill Bill is downright fun which is about as good of design as good design gets.

Overall Value

Despite the fact that Hill Bill is exactly one dollar higher than we might like, it’s still worth every penny.

If you’re looking for a fun new arcade game to try out on the iPhone, this is easily the one to grab. And as the developers include more content, bikes, and gear, the entertainment value for your money is only going to get sweeter.

One thing we also like is that unlike many games today that are always looking for you to spend more money on IAPs, with Hill Bill you’ll be rewarded with in-game content and extra free content in the form of suits, bikes and additional levels that the developer promises will be coming later this month.

There’s never been a better time to jump on this hilarious, quirky iPhone game.

Hill BillHill Bill requires iOS 4.3 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. This app is optimized for iPhone 5. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
