Tomohawk, an app by The Pool Factory SRL, lets iOS users “get their Wild West on” as they battle against various rival enemies. Set against a Western-themed background, Tomohawk boasts of featuring great graphics and great game play.

Tomohawk allows players to slay a variety of frustrating enemies throughout the various levels of the game. Featuring fun, upbeat music that blends perfectly into the Wild West feeling of the app, Tomohawk’s designers clearly put a good deal of thought into the audio features of the app in addition to addressing the visual aspects.

Each level of this app is more difficult than the last, with the enemies appearing and firing away at players faster than before. Playing Tomohawk is pretty simple to figure out, and the enemies/targets who pop up are fairly easy to accurately aim/shoot at.

The increasing speed at which these enemies arrive on the screen seemed appropriate for the game; starting out things were a bit slow, but they picked up fairly quickly. Overall, Tomohawk really seemed similar to “old school” Western-themed arcade games, and any fans of such arcade games will definitely enjoy playing Tomohawk.

Appearance and Layout:

The graphics of Tomohawk are just as great as they are promised to be. Each character in Tomohawk is well-designed, and scenery graphics for Tomohawk are pretty much perfect.

Navigating through Tomohawk was also pretty do-able on the first try, and users should not have difficulty in figuring out how to use the weapons in their arsenal. The home screen for Tomohawk displays all of the game options, and personalizing these options is easily accomplished.

The points scored during Tomohawk are displayed at the bottom of the screen, along with the weapon of choice and the other weapons a player has earned (or purchased) access to. This arrangement of points/weapons is perfect, as it does not interfere with playing the game at all.

Tomohawk is currently available for free through the iTunes story, and players can make select in-app purchases (for items like specific weapons) if they desire. For a free game, Tomohawk is definitely a fun addition to the app collection of anyone who loves Western-themed arcade-style game apps.

Additionally, its increasing difficulty levels ensure that it should entertain players for at least some length of time. Overall, Tomohawk is definitely an example of an app well done.
