Shark Attack 2
iPad Game Review by TheiPhoneAppReview.com
Concept and Gameplay:
If you’re familiar with the wildly popular Plants vs. Zombies game, you’ll feel right at home playing Shark Attack 2. This ridiculously cute underwater defense game will have you hooked in no time. Cheesy puns aside, this is a truly fun game to play.
The whole idea of the game is to protect yourself from the menacing fish that are threatening your territory. You have an arsenal of fish at your disposal, ready to fight to the death at your command.
Shark Attack 2 borrows quite a bit from Plants vs. Zombies, but not enough to consider it as a copycat or anything of the like. Personally I wish more games would adopt this same style instead of other successful games like Angry Birds, but that’s mainly because I find games like this to be a true test of patience and timing. There’s nothing worse than watching an enemy fish approach without the means to defend yourself.
Thankfully Shark Attack 2 has a few differences that set it apart, as well. For example, you can easily select between five different underwater worlds, each with ten levels of defensive goodness. As long as we’re crunching numbers, I should also mention the fact that there are 18 fish to unlock and 28 fish to defend yourself against. If you ask me, that’s quite a variety!
Gameplay aside, Shark Attack 2 comes with a few extra features that help to enhance it. For example, it’s Game Center enabled, making it perfect to compete against friends and strangers to see who is the best underwater defender.
There are also quite a few achievements to unlock, ranging from rewards for unlocking new levels to using one of the super weapons that are available.
Another thing I love about Shark Attack 2 is how easy it is to learn and play. Even gamers who aren’t familiar with the Plants vs. Zombie game style will catch on quickly thanks to the very lengthy tutorial that’s available when you first play the game.
Casual gameplay means even young kids can play it without parents having to worry about things getting too graphic or violent.
Shark Attack 2 can be downloaded from the App Store for only $1.99. Plus it’s universally compatible with iPad and iPhone. The price might seem a little steep, but the sheer number of levels and the amount of detail put into the game definitely makes it worth it.
This is one game you’ll want to sink your teeth into if you’re looking for something casual and cute!
Shark Attack 2 is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Requires iOS 5.0 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
