As someone who spends a great deal of time typing (both on my computer and on my iPhone), I enjoy occasionally taking typing tests to try and improve my accuracy. While something like this is fairly common for computers, iPhone typing tests and games are a bit more sparse. What’s worse is that they’re usually boring and dry. Thankfully all that is about to change.
QDict, developed by QDict BV, is an awesome typing game for iPhone that allows you to challenge friends or challenge yourself. If you think you’re the fastest iPhone typist in the world, it’s time to prove it!
Concept and Gameplay:
If there’s one thing you absolutely must know about QDict, it’s the fact that it’s an incredibly well-designed game that will keep you playing for hours. Unlike other typing games that tend to be very dry and boring, QDict switches thing up by including five different environments, each with 20 levels of typing goodness.
The best part? Each environment shows words in different ways. This means you’re basically getting five different typing games in one, which is a truly wonderful thing!
Levels are super easy to complete, though, and no matter what environment you’re playing in, the goal is still the same; type the word as fast as possible with no mistakes. The faster you type, the better your score. At the end of the level, you can see how long it took to type each word and your final score is an average of all your words. Why is this such a big thing?
Most typing games base your score on how fast you completed the level, not how fast you typed each word. This means you can type a couple words very quickly and take your time on the others, and you’ll still get a decent score.
If you’re a fan of multiplayer games, QDict is perfect for you. You can challenge yourself as well as your friends and other players around the world. This not only makes the game even more fun, but it also encourages you to strengthen your iPhone typing skills so you can type faster and and more accurately.
As I mentioned before, QDict currently has 100 levels of gameplay, and each level gets progressively harder as you complete them. The best part is that levels and environments can easily be added in future updates. QDict also features Game Center integration, which makes it very easy to find and compete against friends.
For users who enjoy using boosts in games, QDict features Time Killers, which are bombs that help to slow down time to improve your score. You’ll start with five Time Killers, and you can purchase more with coins. Lastly, QDict supports English, Spanish, Dutch, German, French, Portuguese and Italian languages.
QDict can be downloaded from the App Store for $1.99, which is very reasonable given how many levels are included in the game. I can’t recommend it enough, as great graphics and gameplay will have you hooked in no time!
