It’s never a good thing when your favorite NFL player ends up with an injury that pulls them from the game.

If you’re involved in a fantasy football league, knowing a statistic like the chances of your QB or runningback getting injured at any point in time is something you’ve probably only dreamed of.

Wake up, football junkies; your dream just came true!

Injury Predictor, developed by Teach Me Sushi, is a brand-new iPhone tool to help football fans determine how likely a player will get injured.

Whether you’re a fantasy football guru or you just want to keep tabs on your favorite players, Injury Predictor is a unique and very useful app.

Concept and Functionality:

Injury Predictor is a groundbreaking sports app that’s a necessity for anyone who is looking forward to the approaching NFL season. It’s surprisingly simple to use, and even simpler to read. All you have to do is type in a player’s name, select it from the dropdown box, and wait for statistics to load.

The player profile page shows everything from injury season probability to average injuries and games missed per season. There’s even a detailed player overview and analysis which allows you to familiarize yourself even better with players and how they perform.

Injury Predictor even shows a graphic depiction of where a player sustains injuries and how many of them have occurred in different parts of the body. Lastly, you can see a detailed list of all recorded player injuries dating back to their college career.

In essence, Injury Predictor is equivalent to having a coach with you wherever you go. The amount of information you can glean from the app is incredible, and the best part is that it’s simple and straightforward.

You don’t have to sift through paragraphs and technical jargon to get the information you’re looking for, which is definitely unusual for an app like Injury Predictor.

For fans who are curious about injuries across the NFL, there’s a handy Injury News section. This up-to-date feed shows you a list of all players who have incurred an injury, as well as a brief commentary as to whether or not the player will miss any games because of it.

This quick blip of advice is extremely useful for fantasy football folks, as it usually mentions whether an injury will damage your league lineup.

While there’s no disputing the usefulness of Injury Predictor, I’m disappointed to see a lack of useful features besides important statistics. First, there should be a section in a player’s profile which includes any related headlines from the Injury News feed.

This would keep users from missing important headlines if they’re not browsing the feed on a regular basis. Also, the ability to search for a player or team in the Injury News section would be extremely helpful.

I’d also love to see the ability to create and save a list (or multiple lists) of players that you’re watching on a regular basis or are in your fantasy league. Push notifications would come in handy here, as well, so you can immediately be notified if a player on your list becomes injured.

Lastly, the ability to search by team and not just by player would likely be useful for fans who are looking to see how well their team will do this season.

While Injury Predictor is undeniably useful for NFL fans, it definitely lacks quite a few key features. However, it’s not like these features can’t be added in future updates, so I’m still giving the app a high rating.

I definitely recommend Injury Predictor to anyone who is looking for an indispensable source for player information!
