iPad Game Review by TheiPhoneAppReview.com
Endless Blitz is an exciting new game that’s perfect for the upcoming football season. Developed by hhgregg, Inc., this game is great for practicing your virtual runningback skills or entering yourself in a contest to win awesome prizes.
Concept and Gameplay:
The goal of Endless Blitz is to guide your runningback down the field and carry the ball as far as possible. You can choose three different ways to control him: tap and drag, swipe, or tilt.
My personal preference was tilt, and I found it to be very sensitive, often shifting my runningback into different lanes with the slightest movement of my iPad. As you’re traveling down the field you’ll encounter defenders who are determined to take you down.
You’ll also collect power ups to help you earn more yardage, as well as coins to spend on power ups in the Endless Blitz shop.
If my mention of a contest piqued your interest, you’ll be excited to know that Endless Blitz offers the chance to win daily prizes, as well as the ultimate grand prize of meeting football legend Tony Dungy.
I’m pretty sure the game was developed specifically for the contest, but that doesn’t mean you need to enter the contest in order to play.
As far as overall gameplay, I found Endless Blitz to be very addicting and fun. As I mentioned before, it’s likely that the game was developed specifically for a contest, but that doesn’t mean you need to enter it in order to enjoy the game.
One thing I do want to mention, though, is that you’ll be asked to enter it if you score over 100 yards on a run. If you do decide to enter the contest, you’ll automatically receive a maximum of three entries per day.
I couldn’t find a way to opt out of the contest from the start, though, which could be frustrating for those who become annoyed by entry popups after each game.
For being a contest game, Endless Blitz is actually packed with cool features that make it a wonderful standalone game. In fact, I’m truly hoping that it continues to be developed even after the contest ends on 9/12. Some of the great features included are achievements you can unlock and even global leaderboards.
As far as any features that Endless Blitz might be lacking, the only thing I can think of is the aforementioned option to opt out of the h.h gregg contest, as there’s a strict requirement for participants to be 18 years or older.
This is definitely a game that would appeal to younger iPhone and iPad users, and the opt out option would help to filter out the young crowd and those who aren’t interested in the contest.
Endless Blitz is free to download for iPhone and iPad, and there aren’t any in-app purchases to worry about.
Whether you want to enter the super cool h.h. gregg Get In The Game Sweepstakes or you’re just looking for a great new game to get into the football mood, Endless Blitz is definitely worth downloading!
Endless Blitz is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Requires iOS 4.3 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
