Grocery and Beyond
iPhone App Review by TheiPhoneAppReview.com
Grocery and Beyond by Cloud 99 Solutions provides iOS users with an easy way to manage all of their shopping lists. Much more detailed in its organizational pattern than a simple grocery list, Grocery and Beyond forces users to keep track of all the details of their shopping needs.
Grocery and Beyond is designed to provide an easy platform for shoppers to keep organized shopping lists. The pre-made layout for Grocery and Beyond provides spaces for users to input information about the items they need to purchase, the quantities of those specific items, and whether or not an item is a “must have.”
A spot to mark off “purchased” items is also conveniently placed beside all entries on Grocery and Beyond lists, and users can quickly “reset” lists to clear any of these stated purchases at any time if they desire. Other features in Grocery and Beyond include the ability to email lists to oneself or friends, various list sorting options, and ease in copying entries from one list to another.
Overall, I found that Grocery and Beyond and easy and practical to use; however, I felt like I experienced a slight lag when accessing some of the list features, but this occasional issue really seemed to be the only negative aspect of the app.
Appearance and Layout:
For an app that covers as much information that Grocery and Beyond does, the appearance and layout of it is impressively clean. Using the pre-made list layouts in this app is pretty simple to do, and first time users should have no difficulty with utilizing it. While Grocery and Beyond definitely does not have impressively detailed graphics, it really does not need to have such graphics because an app of its type has no call for them.
Simple icons direct Grocery and Beyond users to some of the various features of the app; for instance, an envelope pulls up the option to email a list, and a double-arrow icon allows users to “reset” a list. An information icon leading users to a FAQ and Support Center is also prominently displayed in Grocery and Beyond, further adding to the ease in usability of the app.
Grocery and Beyond currently costs $0.99 through the iTunes store. For consumers who are finding themselves with the desire to keep detailed lists of their shopping needs and budgeting aims, Grocery and Beyond could very well be seen as an extremely useful app. However, for the average shopper, the details covered in Grocery and Beyond probably won’t be seen as necessary.
Therefore, while this app is perfect for the organized shopper (or for the shopper who greatly desires to be organized), most iOS users probably won’t see a need for it. At the same time, however, there is a free version of Grocery and Beyond that offers almost the same features as the full version; the only differences between the two versions is in-app advertising and a limited number of entries for lists in the free version.
Grocery and Beyond iPhone app requires iOS 5.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. This app is optimized for iPhone 5. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
