iPhone App Review by TheiPhoneAppReview.com
My Nutrition by Codekia Pty Ltd is described as being an app that covers all possible information regarding food choices. Featuring information covering everything from food diaries, personalized recipes, and indexed foods as listed by the USDA, My Nutrition is a one-stop-shop for nutritional information.
My Nutrition is designed to help iOS users keep track of their eating habits. Through containing nutritional information on over 8,000 foods (or specific preparations of certain foods), My Nutrition is one convenient location that users can take advantage of to find information on any foods that they eat, plan on eating, or want to avoid eating. In fact, this app even features the ability to designate foods as “Favourites,” “Avoid,” or “Other.”
The full version of My Nutrition also includes a dietary log where users can document their eating habits. The full version of this app can also be used to search for foods by specific nutrients; for example, users can search for items that are rich in particular vitamins that they may otherwise be lacking in their diets.
Additionally, we really like the fact that this app even lists the nutritional information of some food menu items from certain popular restaurants. Something that can be very important and yet very hard to find elsewhere.
Appearance and Layout:
My Nutrition’s layout is fairly organized for an app that covers as much information as it does. Navigating through My Nutrition is simple to do, and the bright graphics of it seem friendlier than those of My Fitness Pal (another popular nutrition/health habits app).
Since finding information on My Nutrition is done through either the “search” feature or though specific food categories, the information that is displayed on the screen at any one time is never overwhelming.
Utilizing the food diary is also wonderfully easy to do, and reviewing eating habits over time can certainly be revealing of certain dietary patterns for some individuals.
Even though My Nutrition is advertised as being a free app, in-app purchases must be made before users can actually access all of the app’s features. Specifically speaking, full use of the Food Diary can be purchased for $1.99, and a $6.99 purchase can be made to unlock full access to all of the features in My Nutrition.
As a whole, the features in My Nutrition are definitely quite comprehensive, and for someone who is looking for an app that does everything that My Nutrition does, then it will be seen as worth its price. However, for users who just want to use a few of its features, other completely free apps would seem like the more practical choice.
My Nutrition iPhone app requires iOS 6.1 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. This app is optimized for iPhone 5. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
