iPhone App Review by TheiPhoneAppReview.com
SkipCount is an app for the iPhone and iPod touch. The point of SkipCount is to help you track your timers and countdowns. SkipCount is aimed at more longer termed countdowns such as the number of days till Christmas and lets you skip days you don’t want counted. The app already has some of the design of iOS 7 built in, so the app looks great on any iOS device. The graphics of the app are decent, and the user interface is a bit above average. The app’s functionality is broad and covers a variety of features. I’ll go into these a bit below.
The list of features are pretty cool, so here we go. With SkipCount, you can create unlimited countdowns, choose days to be skipped, tell the exact time to an event in a variety of time settings (years, months, weeks, etc.), choose from many alarms, personalize your countdown, view in two different formats, organize your upcoming events, organize your past events, color code & categorize countdowns, and even make the app notify you when the event is about to start.
The feature list is extensive and is clearly a solid way to track your timers and countdowns. To make the list easier to understand, the application basically gives you the time until an event. So if you wanted to track how long it is until Christmas, you can find out with only a few taps.
The design of the app is decent. It’s in a clear and organized format, but it could use some additional touches. As I mentioned above, the app has some elements of iOS 7 already integrated, so when the new OS comes out in the fall, the app experience will be good to go. The developers and designers of SkipCount know that simplicity is important, and they are striving to meet and surpass your expectations. One of the best things about SkipCount is that it is optimized for the iPhone 5, so it will look great on the latest iPhone. The app is also updated every few months with the last update being in April.
Overall the application has some potential, and is a reliable way to track your timers and countdowns. While it shouldn’t replace your regular calendar, it can be a great way to calculate the time left until a day or event. The app shows promise with a simplistic design, iPhone 5 support, and a great array of features. It might be interesting to check out.
SkipCount is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Requires iOS 5.0 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
