My TinyTales: Written iPhone App Review
In My TinyTales, users can create and edit their own custom videos, then share them with the world. Video creation is done through choosing a template (currently over 10 tempaltes to work with), or going with a blank one to start from scratch. Colors of background and text may be edited for each video. Then, the user can select background music (only from built in music in the app, not your own custom music unfortunately)to incorporate into the video clip. Once complete, the video is saved (will save faster on iOS devices with newer processors). Users can then directly share their TinyTales on Facebook with their friends. They can also view their Facebook friend’s TinyTale videos through the app itself. You can choose to save the video to your Gallery, or email it to someone as well.
My TinyTales looks great on the iPhone. The developers have gone for a cheerful, brightly-colored theme but combined with professional layout and design. Overall, it really looks great! The app layout is remarkably easy to figure out and the app performs fairly well. Don’t expect blazing fast video creation (bear in mind this is on a mobile device), but My TinyTales gets the job done!
There really aren’t too many quality video editing programs available on iOS. For one, it’s difficult to actually process a video on the usually-low-powered devices like an iPod Touch or even iPad. Video creation is an intensive process and is usually best done on desktop computers, not mobile devices. However, for creating short films, My TinyTales performs fairly well. The templates are fun, cute (definitely geared towards the toddler/cute baby market, but developer has stated more templates are coming), and the app is free! If you would like to have a simple video creation app on your iPod Touch, iPad, or iPhone, consider giving My TinyTales a shot.
My TinyTales iPhone app requires iOS 6.1 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad devices. This app is optimized for iPhone 5. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
