Magic Mirror Booth: Written & Video iPhone App Review
Magic Mirror Booth, developed by Guillaume Fleury, brings the goofiness of magic mirrors to your iPhone. Whether you want to snap a quick picture or record a funny video, this photography app lets you do it all!
Concept and Functionality:
What’s life without a heavy dose of fun? You know, like carnivals and whatnot. If you’re like me, the magic mirror maze is your favorite place to hang out. Now you can bring the same effects anywhere you go with Magic Mirror Booth. The app not only allows you to take cool photos, but you can record video as well.
Magic Mirror Booth is extremely easy to use and is very well designed. One of the coolest things about the app is that there are a total of nine different mirror effects you can use. You can even customize each effect to distort photos and videos however you want. Three of the nine effects are available for free, and the others are unlocked if you purchase the in-app upgrade.
Once you’ve taken a photo or recorded a video in Magic Mirror Booth, you can save it to your iPhone’s camera roll. You can also share your photo and video via Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and email. My favorite part about the app is that everything is very easy to find and customize, meaning you spend less time fiddling with controls and more time taking awesome photos and videos.
For the perfect photo and video, Magic Mirror Booth allows you to see a live preview of your camera. This way you can fully customize effects before recording them. Customizing effects is as easy as tapping the screen and sliding various adjustments, allowing a ton of creative options so photos and videos are truly unique.
Also, another feature that’s available in the optional upgrade is the ability to change the pitch of your voice while recording video. If having the fun magic mirror effect wasn’t enough, this is definitely going to add a whole other dimension of goofiness to videos you create in Magic Mirror Booth.
Lastly, you even have control over basic camera functions such as switching between your iPhone’s front and rear camera, as well as enabling and disabling flash. As far as features that are missing from Magic Mirror Booth, there’s nothing I can really think of that would need to be changed or added in order to make the app better, which is always a great thing!
Magic Mirror Booth is available to download for free in the App Store. The optional $1.99 in-app purchase not only unlocks six additional effects, but also allows you to adjust the pitch of your voice when recording videos for even more entertainment. If you don’t want the additional effects but still would like to unlock the voice pitch feature, you can do so for $0.99. Magic Mirror Booth is definitely a no-frills photography app that is perfect for anyone who likes to have fun with their camera!
Magic Mirror Booth is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Requires iOS 6.0 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
