Grave the Bounty Hunter: Written iPhone App Review
Grave the Bounty Hunter by McKinley Garland is an app that pits iOS users against the zombies that are roaming around the earth. Set in the year 2020, this game lets players enjoy the role of the hero, Grave, a bounty hunter who is seen as being humankind’s last chance for survival.
Grave the Bounty Hunter is a runner/shooter app game. Featuring “tap screen” shooting, this game requires players to be constantly on the lookout for incoming zombie invaders. Acting quickly is a necessity for any player to successfully complete missions during Grave the Bounty Hunter. Featuring arcade-style graphics, Grave the Bounty Hunter is an app that is sure to delight anyone who spent hours tossing quarters at “old school” arcades. The soundtrack for this app is an original one, developed by the creator of the app. Other features in Grave the Bounty Hunter include recorded high score statistics, as well as information revealing how many bullets have been shot and how many zombies have been successfully killed. When playing Grave the Bounty Hunter myself, I found that the app flowed very smoothly with practically no lag; controlling my character in the app was also very easy to do.
Appearance and Layout:
Grave the Bounty Hunter is simple to navigate, particularly on the screens of larger iOS devices (iPAD, iPad mini). While the choice to use red font in this app makes it somewhat more difficult to read the missions for each level, this font is still readable enough. Entry screens to the app give users the choice to customize their app settings or to start playing the game immediately. Choosing to play the game leads users to another screen that reveals the storyline behind Grave the Bounty Hunter; a “How to Play” button is displayed here, as well as an option to start to play the app. Besides the relatively difficult-to-read red texts, the graphics for Grave the Bounty Hunter are above satisfactory.
Grave the Bounty Hunter currently costs $0.99 through the iTunes store. For what the game is, this price seems to be fairly reasonable. The graphics work well for an app of its type, and the soundtrack is quality as well. While Grave the Bounty Hunter is probably not the absolute best zombie-based app in the iTunes store today, it still is an app that will provide entertainment for zombie fans and is worth its relatively minimal price.
Grave the Bounty Hunter iPhone app requires iOS 5.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
