Yomaney: Written iPhone App Review
Over the years, we’ve used a wide number of different expense tracking applications to make sure we’re on top of our money. Some have been good, and some have been quite terrible. However, occasionally we find an app that completely revitalizes the way we budget. With that in mind, may we present Yomaney by developer Omer Tamir. The app presents us with a pleasant interface, a full bevy of functionality, and a simplistic way to ensure our financial security. And for our full review, you need only to slide on down below the break!
Concept and Functionality
The entire Yomaney experience begins with setting up an account. This takes very little time at all, and will ensure that you can sync your financial information across devices. Trust us, you’re going to want that. With that in mind, let’s move onto the good stuff!
Yomaney gives you all of the basic and advanced money handling features that you could hope for. Straight out of the gate, it lets you plugin your various accounts and enter the withholdings for each. You can customize these to your heart’s content, and should you ever need to adjust their settings later, it’s hardly a pain to do so. With that out of the way, you can begin logging your income and expenses. The app comes with a massive set of preloaded, common expenses, though you can easily add your own.
In addition to setting repeat expenses, Yomaney also features a phenomenal reminder system that will alert you when a bill is past due. As far as income is concerned, you can also set up repeat offenders, customize entry information, and generally speaking give the app as much data as you can stand. Add budgets, a separate category for money transfers, and a full set of incredibly detailed reports, and you’ve got yourself a good day out, financially speaking!
Interface and Layout
Here’s the real kicker with Yomaney, though: The app is simply stunning. We’ve seen more than a few other titles in the genre during our time, and this is easily one of the best looking that we’ve ever seen. It’s got that new-fangled sliding sidebar that keeps all of the functionality nearby, as well as rapid flyovers and buttons designed to speed up the money tracking. Lastly, the included reports are top-notch, easy to view, and easy-to-understand. All of this amounts to a great experience, and one that’s hardly hard on the eyes.
At the end of the day, Yomaney is a real bargain at only two bucks in the App Store. That’s half the price of a Starbucks latte that you can spend to ensure that you stay on budget, in the green, and financially stable. We don’t think we even have to tell you how that’s helpful. Yomaney is solidly recommended.
Yomaney requires iOS 5.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
