Tripini: Written iPhone App Review
When was the last time you had to search through your wallet or purse just to find your rewards membership number? Have you ever accidentally packed your wallet in your checked luggage? What about the time you went out for a long walk while on vacation and got completely lost with no idea how to get back to your hotel?
Tripini, developed by shonikIDEAS, LLC., is designed to accommodate both casual travelers and frequent flyers alike. If one thing’s for certain, this is likely the last trip planning app you’ll ever need to purchase.
Concept and Functionality:
As someone who feels the need to plan for almost everything, I love apps that include built-in checklists to help me prepare. After all, why spend all that time thinking about what you need when someone else can do it for you? Not to mention the fact that premade checklists usually include tons of things we otherwise forget about. Tripini has you covered, though, and definitely won’t leave you in the dust.
One of the things I love most about Tripini is the fact that everything is organized nicely and neatly. Planning for a trip is almost never as exciting as actually getting there, and it’s nice to see that Tripini tries to make it a bit easier. Along with the ability to create comprehensive packing lists, you can also keep track of travel tickets. While this shouldn’t be the only way you store tickets, it definitely serves as a great backup in case you lose your confirmation email.
Last but certainly not least, Tripini includes Breadcrumbs, which allows you to geotag locations while traveling so you can mark memorable spots. This feature serves quite a few purposes, such as tagging places you’d like to visit on future trips or creating a digital breadcrumb trail to help you find your way “home”.
Tripini certainly lives up to its description of being a traveler’s secret weapon. From helping you pack to assisting you with finding your way back, this is truly an all-in-one travel app. There are also a few other tricks up Tripini’s sleeve to help make travel easier.
For example, you can store sensitive information such as birth certificate info, credit card numbers, identification info, and even passport information within Tripini so you don’t have to carry documents with you at all times. Everything is secured via account credentials you entered when you first opened the app.
Lastly, you can easily store lodging, rental car, trip insurance, and emergency information. It really is amazing to see how many things we as travelers tend to overlook when it comes to being prepared on trips. With Tripini, you’ll never misplace a vital piece of information again. However, do remember that an app like this is only as useful as the time you put into using it.
Tripini can be downloaded from the App Store for $1.99, which is completely reasonable and cheaper than buying a replacement hairbrush or other items simply because you forgot the pack them. I definitely can’t recommend it enough, and it’s my new favorite travel companion.
Tripini is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 5.1 or later. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
