Falldown Freedom: Written iPhone Game Review
Complex games can be fun, but sometimes you’re looking for something to just keep you occupied for a short while. This is where timed games like Doodle Jump truly shine, and it’s always fun to discover similar games that are just as addicting.
Concept and Gameplay:
One of the things I look for in a physics-based game is visual quality. Basically I enjoy eye candy while playing games. One of the things about Falldown Freedom that definitely surprised me the most is how gorgeous the graphics are. Plus, according to the app’s description in the App Store, the game runs at a constant 60 FPS (frames per second), meaning animations are smoother than butter.
Even though it’s brand-new, Falldown Freedom is already an amazing and addicting game. The concept is simple – guide the ball through holes in the floor to keep it from getting crushed as the floor moves upward. You can pick up boosts along the way, which range from lightning speed to multipliers and floor destroyers. As you reach higher levels, things speed up and you’ll find yourself tilting your iPhone frantically.
As you complete games, you’ll earn coins that can be used to activate superpowers. These superpowers allow you to customize your ball to make it a rolling beast, giving you a better chance of higher scores. Between great graphics, an awesome soundtrack, and a classic game concept, Falldown Freedom is a downright addicting game to play.
I love games that take advantage of the iPhone’s inner gizmos such as the accelerometer and gyroscope, and Falldown Freedom doesn’t fall short. In fact, it’s one of the most responsive games I’ve played that required the gyro.
Those of you who have read prior game reviews of mine might be aware that I absolutely love games with achievements. I was extremely happy to see both Game Center integration and a few achievements. Hopefully more will be added in the future, but it’s certainly a start! Plus you can challenge your friends via Game Center.
Falldown Freedom is free to download from the App Store, and I definitely recommend giving it a try if you love games that tend to give your arms a solid workout. If in-app purchases are your thing, you can pick up a pack of 7,000 coins for $1.99. No distracting ads or pay-to-unlock features means Falldown Freedom gets a major thumbs up. Roll on over to the App Store and download it!
Falldown Freedom is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 6.0 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
