Toddler Farm: Written iPhone App Review
Toddler Farm by Cerebro Pty Ltd is an animal-focused game designed to entertain toddlers. Toddler Farm players are taught to place puzzle tiles in their correct locations. Some of the games teach finger eye coordination through tapping moving animals on the screen, and others help toddlers learn the correct name of various farm animals.
Toddler Farm features several different games that are all focused on entertaining little ones while teaching them some kind of skill. For example, one of the games in Toddler Farm has toddlers aligning colored puzzle pieces of various farm animals as a way of teaching them shape association, and another game features moving bugs that need to be “collected” through tapping them on the screen. A third game teaches toddlers the names of each featured farm animal, along with the sound commonly associated with each animal. Fun music plays in the background of Toddler Farm the entire time and cheering/clapping provides consistent encouragement throughout each of the featured games. Overall, for any little ones with a fascination with farms and animals, Toddler Farm is definitely a game that should keep them entertained for a relatively substantial amount of time.
Appearance and Layout:
The layout of Toddler Farm is perfectly designed for ease in playing for small children. Colorful icons lead to each of the featured games in Toddler Farm, and this minimal use of typography/words is obviously fitting for users who are too young to read. The graphics of Toddler Farm are also well done in a friendly cartoonish-style and are sure to please young audiences. Arrows on the screen direct players around the game, and children familiar with playing iOS games should be able to use this navigation system with ease. Overall, Toddler Farm is an app featuring a layout that is perfect for its target audience.
Toddler Farm costs $0.99 through the iTunes store. While this cost is pretty minimal, it might still seem a little difficult to justify having to pay for this app at all. There are numerous similar apps that are available for free that teach toddlers many of the same skills that Toddler Farm does. Overall, this app is fun, but there still are free apps that are quite similar.
Toddler Farm iPhone app requires iOS 5.1 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
