Safe: Written iPhone App Review
Phnsft’s Safe is an iOS app created to do just what its name suggests—to keep all of your important pictures and information safe from the prying eye of the public. Safe enables users to organize information like passwords and usernames for various accounts so that all of this information can be quickly and conveniently located when it is needed.
Safe is an app designed to provide users with organized, easy access to important information. Safe features easy to organize category options, each of which is designated by a user-chosen icon. This app can be used to store as much (or as little) data as a particular user deems necessary, and pre-made templates can be used to quickly store information for accounts like emails, credit cards, and bank accounts. Photos and personal information (like phone numbers and addresses) can also be stored in Safe. At the same time, users have the option of creating their own account information layouts if desired. Safari can be launched directly through this app, which certainly makes logging into accounts much more convenient. Commenting on account information and rearranging already created categories within the app can also be easily done. Safe information is locked with a user-selected password.
Appearance and Layout:
Safe is an app that is an excellent example of how an app can contain a lot of information without looking overly cluttered. Safe users are first prompted to create a password, and once this login information is set, Safe can be easily used right away. Each category in Safe is represented by a user-designated icon and name, and adding more categories to your Safe list is beautifully simple, as the flow of this app is completely logical. The graphics in Safe are actually pretty much limited to these category icons, but any more graphics really wouldn’t be necessary for the app at all. Overall, I was extremely impressed with the layout and graphics of Safe; it is an app that is easy to navigate and easy on the eyes.
Safe costs $2.99 through the iTunes store. While this is certainly on the relatively more expensive end of iOS apps, it can be argued that the features of Safe make it well worth its price tag. Safe is easy to use, even for a first time user. Its layout is simple and not cluttered, yet at the same time it provides a way to safely store a significant amount of information. However, it should be noted that Safe is not the only iOS app of its type, and while they might not have all the same features of Safe, there certainly are other apps that can do many of the same things as Safe.
Safe iPhone app requires iOS 4.3 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
