Essential Anatomy: Written iPad App Review
Essential Anatomy is an application available for the iPad. The application, developed by 3D4Medical, is an incredible medical app for the iPad. The app let’s you look at a skeleton and musculature in 3D. The best part is that you can see it with a variety of organ systems too! The app is really intuitive and is a blast on the iPad. It also provides a lot of opportunities to help teach others about human anatomy. If you’re into medical apps, this one might just be the best for you.
The features of Essential Anatomy are really ingenious. For one, the app is based on new 3D technology by an impressive graphics engine. The app also contains over 2,500 anatomic structures, audio pronunciation, latin nomenclature, quiz function, search features, and social media tools. These features make the app even more stunning. Personally, I really like how you can tap on any part of the skeleton, and it will show you the latin name, sound it out for you, etc. It also highlights what you tap, so if you’re a doctor or nurse, the app has a lot of practical applications.
One practical application is if you want to show a patient what is wrong with them. With only a few taps, you can zoom into the area and show them. I showed this app to a few other people, and they were amazed. It really seems like a great tool for doctors because this app can convey what you’re saying much better than you could through speech. I would highly recommend this app to any doctors, nurses, medical students, etc.
The design is phenomenal. The graphics are extremely crisp and really stand out on a black background. Essential Anatomy is one of the best designed apps I have ever seen, and it’s supported by it’s 5 Stars iTunes reviews. The intuitiveness of the app is another great thing. You can swipe your away around the body, and look at it from different angles. Another great part about Essential Anatomy is the ability to stack organ systems on top of each other. With a couple taps you can see a variety of organ systems such as nervous and the veins. There are also multiple layers of muscle you can add or subtract to give you a greater look at the different layers of muscle.
Overall the app is really awesome. It has a great design, great features, and great medical and educational value. While the app is on the pricy side, it is still a terrific value given all that you get for the price. I would highly recommend looking into downloading it if your a medical student, doctor, nurse, etc. or if you’re simply interested in anatomy!
