Google Maps

Perhaps the largest new release of the week, Google Maps has finally landed in the App Store. If you haven’t been following the vicious falling out between the Big-G and Cupertino, allow us to quickly fill you in: Essentially, G-Maps was once the native map app for the iPhone and iPad. However, Apple pulled the plug with the iPhone 5. In response, Google buckled down and made its own iOS map application, and between you and us, it’s everything we ever wanted.

The app is gorgeous, includes navigation like on Android, and all the other features you’ve been craving. Best of all it’s completely free. Go ahead and grab it—we promise you’ll like it more.

Office Jerk Holiday Edition

Everyone’s favorite office torture game is back with even more content, as well as an healthy amount of holiday fun. For those not in the loop, the regular Office Jerk game for iPhone looks something like this: Users pelt, pester and otherwise harass the local office donkey’s behind with whatever happens to be laying around. In return, he reacts. Do things in a certain order, or pester him to the point of breaking, and you’ll start completing challenges.

It’s a whole lot of fun, and this yuletide twist on the classic for iOS is a refreshing change of pace. Best of all, the app is completely free in the App Store. Even if you’re just looking to experience a bit of jerky action without money attached, it’s a solid way to go!

Essentially, if you’ve been waiting all year to bean a couple of naughty elves in the face with a snowball, this is the free app that will satiate you at last.

The game has you fighting a wave of angry elves, dodging their own lobs in exchange for a few of your own. See how many baddies you can take out, and remember—there’s no better way to blow off steam than through a good snowball fight!

Super Mega Worm Vs. Santa – $0.99

Super Mega Worm Vs Santa 150x150 Top 5 iPhone and iPad Apps of the Week

Super Mega Worm Vs Santa

When the original Super Mega Worm came out a while back, we ranted and raved about its gorgeously horrendous and retro graphics, its simple controls, and its unyielding dedication to sticking to the traditional 8-bit platform. We could not get enough of the app’s gameplay, and thankfully, we now have even more opportunity to delight in Mega Worm’s adventures.

Super Mega Worm Vs. Santa is almost exactly what you expect it to be: Santa and his elves have joined the darkside, and it’s now up to you to wreak some worm-flavored havoc and justice upon them. You’ll get all new side-scrolling levels, the same incredible graphics, and even more fun out of this incredible series. Best of all, the app will only cost you a dollar. Sounds like a solid bargain to us!
