Snappet: Written iPhone App Review
Snappet – Christas Edition is an app available for the iPhone. The point of the app is to help you decorate your pet photos with fun items and Christmas themes. While the Holidays have already passed, Snappet provides an easy way to decorate your pet pictures, and celebrate the already-passed holiday. I’ll go into more detail about the features and design of Snappet below. Snappet is a pet oriented app, so if you want to get your dog or cat looking good, just pull out Snappet!
Features & Functionality
The features of the app are pretty much focused on adding images, objects, messages, and borders to your photos. Snappet has dragging integration, so it’s easy to position the objects on your photo. For example, let’s say you have a dog. You simply pull out Snappet, and snap a picture of your dog. From there, you can add anything you want such as a hat. After that, you’re ready to share your new photo on Facebook or send it to a friend/family member via email. This app can save you a lot of time, and it will save time by replacing the once rigorous task of putting a sweater or a hat on your pet, and instead just doing it with a matter of taps.
The messages that are within Snappet are actually pretty good. As this app is a holiday edition app, it seems fit to have captions such as “Feed Me”, and “Woof Woof”. This adds a little extra spice to the app and can really improve how your photo looks. The captions is probably one of the best tools available within the app.
The design of Snappet can really be improved. For one, there is no iPhone 5 support, which is a turn off to many people. The interface is also a little bit clunky and needs to be simplified. On the other hand, the application has a nice written tutorial, which gives you a way to learn about the app and get used to it’s interface. The app also has very small windows when you open the tabs. This can make it difficult to use for some bigger-fingered people. So the design and layout of Snappet needs improvement.
One of the good things about Snappet is that it saves a lot of time. Instead of going through the pain of putting a physical object on your pet (as I mentioned above), you can do it quickly and effectively. Once you get your completed photo, you can simply email it as part of your holiday greeting cards. Overall, the app is a great time saver, but needs to be improved a bit in design. The developers seem to have updates often so we will just have to see if they can add iPhone 5 support. In total, pretty good app.
Snappet is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Requires iOS 5.0 or later. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
