Shopping Pro: Written iPad App Review
If you’ve ever forgotten something at the store, or neglected to remember what your loved one asked you to pick up, you’ll love Shopping Pro, a new iOS app from Quinn Genzel. This simple, cost effective app, that works great on both the iPhone and the iPad, makes connecting your shopping lists a snap with cloud support and so much more.
First and foremost, Shopping Pro is equipped with a sweet mass index of foods, from frozen items to the organic goodies your family craves. Of course, this list is also customizable. If you’re after something and it’s not on the list (note: it’s hard to find things that aren’t on this list!) you can add it, complete with price details, in three different ways.
I really loved the customizable nature of this application. You can even set it up to use your area tax rate. Probably the best and most useful feature is the option to create saved shopping lists. If you have a few go-to purchases that make your home run like clockwork, that’s where you want to put them.
There’s a great built-in search feature that makes it easy to find items, or, again, you can add whatever you want. Do you grocery shop for polka dot umbrellas and elephant tattoos? (just examples) Add ‘em to your list, my friend. You’ll never forget them again.
Cloud sync also allows you to make updates to lists from more than one device. Make an entry on your iPad at home, for example, and have it show up on an iPhone at the supermarket. So, if divide and conquer is more your style, this app will work great for you.
Layout & Design:
Customize, customize, customize my friends. That’s what you can do with Shopping Pro. There are a handful of preset styles you can change the app to, but font adjustors and custom color selection circles mean you can make this app anything you want. It’s really quite fun.
Style aside, using the Shopping Pro iPhone app is quite easily done. I do recommend you take a moment to familiarize yourself with the editing options. Here’s a hint: look at the bottom of the screen if you want to remove individual items! Be careful not to remove whole categories by accident.
In general, I found Shopping Pro thorough, thoughtful and extremely useful. It also looks great on the iPad, but can run on the smaller iPhone if necessary. I do love a versatile app.
Shopping Pro can be your constant shopping trip companion and friend for the cost of $2.99. That’s not a bad price for a universal app with fun import and export and sync options. If you use your iPad to make lists anyway, this app gives you a lot of added functionality. The price input feature also makes it easy to plan how much your trip will cost.
Shopping Pro iPhone app requires iOS 5.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
