PayAnywhere – Accept Credit Cards: Written iPad App Review

PayAnywhere for iPhone

Over the years, we’ve had ample opportunity to sample most of the credit card processing applications available for iOS. In fact, during our experiences suggesting options to clients, using them in retail situations, and paying friends with most options under the sun, we like to think we know the genre. This is why we’re pleased to be bringing you a full review of PayAnywhere – Accept Credit Cards by developer North American Bancard. The app makes it simple and effective to treat your iPhone or iPad as a mobile cash register, and the end results are more than pleasing. For our full thought, you need only to slide on down below the break!

Concept and Functionality

If you’ve ever been out and about in one of the more trendy cities in the country, and have paid for an item using someone’s phone or iPad, then you’ve actually got a pretty good handle on how PayAnywhere works. The app lets cashiers “ring up” items inside, then swipe your card to pay for them. It’s really that simple. You can also enter numbers manually if required, but like most good payment methods of this nature, the company behind the app has a swiper ready-made.

Aside from this, there are a few notable reasons to use PayAnywhere instead of its competitors. First of all, its two and barely over a half percent fee is ridiculously cheap per swipe. On top of this, you’ll get all kinds of reporting options for those pesky end of the month reports. Add to this the ability to sync your cash drawer with what’s happening on the electronic side, and PayAnywhere begins to look a lot more attractive as a mobile register than a means of simply paying your mate for lunch.

Design and Interface

In fact, this is really the only way in which PayAnywhere loses points. Let’s back up a notch, though. The interface has been cleverly well-designed to make it simple to run a store through its wares. It’s pretty enough, easy to navigate, and couldn’t be simpler. That being said, it’s not Square: It won’t be as easy to use for small or single transactions. However, this isn’t what it’s designed to do. It will more easily handle inventories, steady order streams, and cash drawer management. This makes it ideal for those situations, but perhaps not so great for the casual professional in need of a once-in-a-while drawer.

Overall Value

Either way, though, you’ll hardly lose out on the frontend with the app! It costs nothing to try, which makes it phenomenally good for those who are curious, but don’t yet want to run their business with electronics. We can, however, reassure you that the interface is excellent on the iPad, and that the app is easily worth a look.
