Moon Skater Pro Version: Written iPhone App Review
Moon Skater Pro Version by 3 Guys Apps is an iOS game that leaves players with the job of defending earth against alien invaders. Moon Skater Pro offers more action than the original Moon Skater version and is designed to keep the fast-paced-loving gamers engaged for long periods of time. This app is available for $0.99, with the option of additional in-app purchases.
Players of Moon Skater Pro are pitted against aliens that are attempting to invade the earth. However, instead of fighting them on earth directly, the Moon Skater character has taken the fight to outer space, and all fighting actually takes place on the alien’s home turf—a moonlike landscape. Moon Skater Pro is a multi-leveled game that even allows you to directly fight the Mother Ship during level 10. The difficulty of the game increases with each level, and while I found that Moon Skater Pro was easy to learn, I still found the levels to be satisfyingly challenging. The speed of the game was impressive and made split-second decisions of uttermost importance if I (or anyone) wanted to completely beat the game. As a whole, I was very pleased with the pace of this app. Moon Skater Pro also features fun, upbeat music/sound effects that add to the experience of the game, and in-app purchases for upgrades are also available. A leader’s score board is another part of this app, although simply mastering each level (without a particular minimum score) is all that is required for beating the game.
Appearance and Layout:
Moon Skater Pro is excellently laid out, allowing for little room for confusion. Beginners to the game are given a quick tutorial that teaches them the basic skills needed to play, and I was pleased to discover that this tutorial level really did teach all the essentials to Moon Skater Pro. The controls for the app are located at the bottom corners of each screen, while info like “coins collected” is displayed at the top; this layout works well to provide necessary information without interfering with the fluidity of game play. Additionally, the graphics of Moon Skater Pro are perfect for an app of its type. The characters are designed with fun details, as is the background and other features in the game. Players concerned with the visual appearance of a game will not be disappointed with Moon Skater Pro.
Moon Skater Pro costs $0.99, and for fans of games of its type, Moon Skater Pro should not disappoint. Its got great graphics, is easy to learn, and yet is challenging enough that it can’t be mastered on the first (or even second) try. While individual players will have to decide if the optional in-app purchases are worth their prices, I’d certainly say that the overall app is well worth its affordable cost.
Moon Skater Pro Version iPhone app requires iOS 4.3 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
