Logo Quiz: Written iPhone Game Review

Reviewed by Sarah Hanlon
It’s amazing to think of how many things we’re exposed to when we go outside. No matter where you look, you see a store or other business with a big and fancy sign telling you who they are. Usually these companies rely not only on names and slogans, but logos, too. Why not put your knowledge to the test and see just how many logos you know?
Logo Quiz, developed by Jinfra, brings the original and extremely popular quiz game to iPhones and iPads. Whether you want to challenge yourself or a friend, you’re sure to enjoy this fast-paced game.
Concept and Gameplay:

While Logo Quiz isn’t heavy on graphics and a fancy design, the game truly shines with the sheer number of logos in its database. The latest update increased the total number of logos to 1,000. Besides the fact that this seems like an impossible number of companies, this means you’ll have to be a logo genius in order to remember them all.
It takes no time at all to learn how to play Logo Quiz. Simply start a game in Streak mode, Category mode, or With Friends, choose the category you want or friend to play against, and get ready to name that logo. In Streak and With Friends modes, you’re shown either a partial logo or a full logo with important bits removed. You have four possible answers to choose from and hints are available if you happen to get stuck.
With Friends mode is a fun and challenging way to truly test your logo knowledge. Each match with another player consists of three rounds, and the best of three wins. All you have to do is answer 12 logos correctly in the given amount of time. If you love to race against the clock, you’ll definitely enjoy this mode.
In Category mode, all logos are organized into three difficulty tiers – easy, medium, and hard. From fashion to auto, you can either challenge yourself on logos you know or try to learn new ones from categories you’re not too familiar with. Forget about multiple choice, though, because you need to type the answer out.
As I mentioned before, hints are available in all game modes, usually making the most unfamiliar logo guessable. The number of hints is limited, though, but you can earn more through answering correctly. Did you answer a question wrong in a Streak match and now it’s game over? You have the option of spending hints to resume the game right where you left off, meaning an even better score.

As I mentioned before, Logo Quiz contains a staggering number of logos. I’ve played similar games and not a single one of them have even come close to the 1,000 logos in the game’s database.
Are you a fan of achievements? Logo Quiz features Game Center integration and 37 different badges you can earn. These includes longest streaks, number of hints used, and total number of correct logos. Hopefully multiplayer achievements will be added, allowing you to earn them for number of opponents played and/or matches won.
Another great feature is the ability to play against an unlimited number of people in With Friends mode. You can also choose to link your Facebook account with the game or create an account using an email address and password.
Value:

Logo Quiz is definitely my new favorite quiz game. The hours of challenging fun are worth $0.99 price tag. If you’re still unsure, there’s also a free version of Logo Quiz which has half as many logos. No matter which way you go, you can’t go wrong with Logo Quiz.
Logo Quiz is designed for both iPhone and iPad. It is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 4.0 or later. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
