ClipClock: Written iPhone App Review
More and more the Web is moving towards an all-video format: It’s become increasingly important within the realm of search engine rankings and Google, on top of being simply one of the easiest ways to share interesting media with your friends. However, keeping track of all the latest releases and cool snippets can be a real challenge. To this end, may we humbly recommend ClipClock by developer Future Services. The app makes it fun and efficient to track what your friends and favorite individuals are posting, as well as what’s coming down the wire from an entire host of popular video hosting services. For our full review, you need only to slide on down below the break!
Concept and Functionality
The basic concept behind ClipClock looks something like this: There are a million and two videos out there rolling around on the Internet, right? And no matter how much you lurk on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube or Vimeo, it just doesn’t get easier to track what’s fun and inventive. So why not create an app that pulls the best and brightest videos from all of these sources, compiling them into a single interface, a single location, and a single instance?
Believe it or not, this is exactly what ClipClock does. The app ties into your favorite social media accounts and then immediately begins trolling for videos your friends have posted, recommended or shared. It will also comb YouTube and Vimeo for those items created by your favorite popular individuals, or even just engaging sources. The list goes on and on, but with complex search functionality, a slick interface, and more than enough support for popular video formats, you’ll be getting a knockout performance each time.
Design and Interface
When it comes to interface designs for video-related applications, we know we’re picky and we hardly feel like apologizing for it. After all, if you’re building an app that’s designed to showcase incredible video, the surface on which this media rests must be incredible. Thankfully, ClipClock hits the ball out of the park. The minimalistic interface is slick, easy to navigate, and easier on the eyes. All of this adds up to one fluid video experience after another, and all within the confines of your favorite mobile device.
And at the end of the day, ClipClock is completely free in the App Store, which makes it one incredible bargain. If you’re looking for a fun, free and completely engaging way to stay up to date on your socially-focused videos form all your favorite sources, there is no better option than ClipClock. This means the app earns four stars from us, as well as our solid recommendation.
ClipClock requires iOS 5.1 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
