Jumyo: Written iPhone App Review

Reviewed by Philip Chan

Have you ever felt that photo’s posted online lacked a connective story? If so, Jumyo, just released for the iOS, may be right for you. Let’s take a look at this image-sharing story app together!

Available for free on iTunes, Jumyo’s basic concept is centered around taking photos and sharing them as not just invidivual pics, but as a story. It does this by allowing the user to upload photos through it and add notes and narrative with each set. It’s also an all-in-one photo tool, with its awesome set of filters and photo tweaking tools. Once you’ve completed setting up a story with all the narrative and editing you desire, you can share the story through Facebook, allowing friends and family to check out your creation and relive the story with you. Photo’s may be geo-tagged to further add to the interactive experience in each set. You can also add narrative and images to your friend’s stories, through Jumyo, if they allow it. Jumyo is an awesome photo documentary tool and it really impressed us with its array of image sharing tools.

The developers of Jumyo clearly have both app design and web design skills, given their professional website and the excellent layout of Jumyo.I was impressed by how easy it was to navigate through Jumyo and create a photo story with just a few taps on the iOS screen. Adding Notes and more to each photo in a set is easily done. Buttons are nicely organized along the main viewing windows, allowing for quickly switching between pages as needed. Want to add more photos? Just tap the large “+” button at the top right! It’s an excellent browsing experience and one any photo sharing app should emulate.

Photo apps, especially those integreated with social media services, are nothing new for the iOS. However, the quality of such apps varies widely. Jumyo is one that really impressed us here at The iPhone App Review. It’s very polished, handles great and allows for collaborative sharing of not just photos, but memories, with friends, family, and more. If you are looking for a new photo app from a creative set of developers, then Jumyo may be just right for you.

Jumyo iPhone app requires iOS 4.3 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review. The iPhone app reviews rating:
