When you initially load Khaam, and you select the first trial stage, you will be walked through an extensive tutorial on how the game works and the various functions you can conduct to move forward. Various functions and actions include moving about the screen avoiding obstacles, minimizing and magnifying the screen view, and figuring out and obtaining the goal. The interesting aspect of this game is there are two modes you can switch back and forth from: “Planning” mode and “Action” mode. During the “Planning” mode you can strategize and place objects in certain ways to assist your subject make it past various obstacles when you switch back to “Action” mode. The main purpose is to get past the obstacles in each stage and obtain the goal. Sometimes this might be tricky to figure out, but that is the whole point. At times you might have enemy target that you need to fend off (by setting up obstacle traps), or create defense again multiple enemy targets, all while trying to obtain the stage’s goal before the time is up.
Appearance and Layout:
The overall appearance of Khaam is decent. The graphics are nothing fancy, with the background images and main subject appearing 2D and somewhat flat. However, this might prove to be a slight advantage for the player since the background would be less distracting so the player can figure out their best strategy. Animation is decent and smooth. Even with the detailed instructions, the player is almost guaranteed to run though some trial and error runs before accomplishing some of the goals. Overall game app layout is pretty simple to figure out and navigation is easy as well.
For Khaam being offered for 99 cents is an average deal. It is an interesting game with a unique take on it. Younger players might find it a bit confusing at first, but after a few rounds, paying should be a cinch. It is just the strategizing and goal accomplishing that can pose as challenges in a good way. Would people flock to get this game, that idea may remain uncertain, and a boost in the graphics could have made the app look more appealing. However, since it falls into the average price category as other popular apps available in the market today, it is definitely worth a try. It will bound to provide some decent entertainment during your break hour or even as an escape for the time being.
