FlashcardBox Pro: Written iPhone App Review
Looking for an app that can work with your data on your device in combination with Dropbox? Then the FlashcardBox Pro app from developer kanahira is just the app for you! It is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, and runs on iOS 4.3 or later.
When you first load the app, you will be shown the file edit menu with two sub-categories: “City-Country”, and “Music”. Now this might throw new users off, especially if they haven’t uploaded any files yet. However, once done, you can begin editing existing decks by tapping on the “edit” icon on the upper left hand corner and then you select which deck you would like to edit.
This app works with Dropbox, so, not only does this app work on your device, but also on your personal computer. Hence, if your device or personal computer suddenly crashes, all the data can be easily restored as long as they still uploaded to your Dropbox.
The nice thing is what you can edit with the data uploaded and their corresponding flash cards. You have the option of adding notes to the flash cards, altering the background designs, adjusting font size, and also switch back and forth from “reverse” and “focus” modes to better yourself.
Appearance and Layout:
The overall appearance of FlashcardBox Pro is a bit on the bland side. Better graphics and imagery would have made this app a bit more appealing. Navigation could have been smoother and layout could have been a bit more detailed. For new users, and instruction manual or at least a brief summary could have been provided so they would have a better idea of what that app’s purpose and function is like, and how to use it properly.
Also, there were a few spelling errors to be noted throughout the app, but nothing major.
Overall, the value of FlashcardBox Pro is an average deal. At the time the app was reviewed it was being offered at a special introductory price of 99 cents for a limited time period. If after the introductory period, the price remained at 99 cents, then that would be all right, any higher, and that might be pushing it. It is unclear on how many people are really looking, let alone needing this type of app, but for some people looking for convenience and organization, then this app would work great for them.
FlashcardBox Pro iPhone app requires iOS 4.3 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review. The iPhone app reviews rating:
