BestAppPrice: Written and Video iPhone App Review
Do you need real, hard numbers on how much you can earn with your new app? Do you not have the time for complex pricing tests or difficult chains of number crunches? In other words, do you wish there was an app that helped you price your app at exactly the sweetest spot? If so, then you’re in luck: BestAppPrice by developer Mobizdat is a great new application that does exactly that. The titles’ algorithms make it a snap to decide how to price your app, and best of all, this app doesn’t cost much. For our full review, you need only to slide on down below the break!
Concept and Functionality
Now, obviously this app is aimed at those who happen to make iOS software themselves. We can’t think of much of a reason why the layman would need it, so we’ll be skipping that group of users for now. However, if you are a developer, and you’re looking for a convenient way to test sale prices on your iPhone, BestAppPrice is above and beyond the way to go.
The app allows you to enter two unique prices for your app, as well as a set number of downloads. These can either be downloads that you’ve already accumulated, or ones that you anticipate. From there, the app calculates the total number of profit that you’ll get to take back to the bank. It’s quick, immediate, and really rather revealing. Best of all, the app then displays this data in a graph format, which you can email to your business partners—or even just to yourself for safekeeping. Added onto this is the fact that BestAppPrice saves all of your information. This means that you can return at a later date to have another look. Track your progress, and as long as BestAppPrice is kept at the forefront, we guarantee that you’ll find that pricing sweetspot soon.
Design and Interface
Overall, we find it hard to criticize BestAppPrice’s interface as a whole. The app is very solid, and isn’t difficult to use in the slightest. However, we would like to see eventual support for in-app purchases, or other such freemium models of app development. This is only because it’s such a widespread practice these days, and we feel a lot of developers would be more interested to play around with their numbers if this functionality were included. Still, though, BestAppPrice is a solid offering with lots of polished design and incredible ease of use.
And to be fair, BestAppPrice is a one-of-a-kind title with a better-than-expected price tag. It will only run you a dollar in the App Store, which strikes us a particularly advantageous price. And as stated, BestAppPrice is perhaps the only app we know of that does what it does, and does it well. This makes it indispensable, and a must have for any concerned app development firm.
BestAppPrice requires iOS 4.3 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
