Like the idea of combat with zombies in a end of the word era, and you being the ultimate victor? Then the Apocalypse Max app from developer Wandake Game Studio is the just the game app for you! It is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.

When you first load the app and are prompted with the main menu screen, you will notice that the various menu options will be scattered about the screen to blend in with the game background theme. You can play the actual game, view the various levels, check out the app store, browse the leader boards through Game Center, adjust the app settings, access more games from the developer, and connect via social networking.

The basic premise of the game is that you take on the role of a marine named Apocalypse Max whose mission is to eliminate zombies and remain alive. The first level will serve as a tutorial level and will show you the basic movements and fighting functions you can engage in. A health indicator, grenade & ammo count will also appear for you to stay on track. As you move along, visual display instructions will appear to show what action you can do.

There are over twenty levels and nine different regions to conquer and explore. There are also over twenty different types of weapons you can fiddle around with and various fighting styles such as slicing, shooting, and detonating, to kill the sixteen different enemy zombies with.

The overall graphics and images of Apocalypse Max are pretty stellar. Animation is also spot on. The images aren’t too violent for younger users, and the concept that you are fighting the bad guys projects a positive theme. Character movement can get a bit lagging at times, but not enough to be a real major issue. Once you get the hang of the action functions and fighting techniques, app navigation should be a cinch. Background music and sound effects add to the entertaining gaming experience.

At the time the app was reviewed, pricing was not set in stone yet. However, given the pretty decent graphics and entertaining game play, even if the app was not offered for free, it would still be worth getting. It is an app that would appeal to younger and older users alike, and people of backgrounds as well. It is a great, fun app that would definitely help keep you preoccupied for hours on end.

Apocalypse Max iPhone app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review. The iPhone app reviews rating:
