Alarm DJ Pro: Written iPhone App Review
Do you ever wish there was just a basic alarm clock you could use to wake up with in the morning? You know, nothing with a lot of fancy features and timing schedules, just a basic bloody clock that gets you out of bed. Better yet, what if that app also came with the option to use your very own music tracks? Well, with Alarm DJ Pro by developer Forthright Entertainment, you’ll get exactly all of this and nothing else. And that’s a good thing, we promise. For our full review and explanation, you need only to slide on down below the break below!
Concept and Functionality
As stated, Alarm DJ Pro really just takes the concept of an iPhone alarm clock and simplifies it down to the elements that you need most. This removes a lot of the clutter, and we have to say, we like it quite a bit. Here’s what we mean:
The app first of all offers you a couple of different digital clock themes, allowing you to setup its looks exactly as you prefer them. From there, it lets you select a dedicated track from your iPhone’s music library to use as your wakeup call. If you’d like, you can also tell Alarm DJ Pro to just pick a random tune and roll with it every morning. We quite liked this, and either way, both options can be set into motion with a single click. On top of all this, you can of course create multiple alarms for different days of the week or different seasons—so to speak. All in all, this means that Alarm DJ Pro is unbelievably quick to use, works like a champ, and removes the clutter from your wakeup schedule.
Design and Interface
With this in mind, we have to say that Alarm DJ Pro is a pretty basic number when it comes to design. The interface itself has been simplified to the point that absolutely everything within the app that you could possibly want is only a click or two away. However, the downside to this is that it just ain’t very fancy. The clocks themselves look good, but the menus are a bit stock for iOS. Then again, we can’t exactly complain about this, as Alarm DJ Pro is obviously meant to reduce rather than add onto. And with future updates, they could easily address our small complaints.
If you’ve been waiting for a simple alarm clock, an app that lets you wake up to your own music, or both, then you’re in luck with Alarm DJ Pro. It will only cost you a dollar in the App Store, which makes it a tremendous value for just about anyone. If you like the concept, go ahead and fork up the dollar. We promise you’ll like the end results.
Alarm DJ Pro requires iOS 5.1 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
