SecureSafe: iPhone App Written and Video Review
Throughout the years we’ve seen a number of different apps that aim to help us simplify and sort our digital lives. You know the sort: They help you store passwords, documents, contact information, etc. into one safe, secure and untroubled location. It’s a great idea, but sadly its execution often leaves a lot to be desired. Thankfully, though, we now have SecureSafe by developer DSwiss. The app is unbelievably effective at securing our information, and we could not be more tickled about the price tag. If your curiosity has been piqued, go ahead and check out our full review of the app below!
Concept and Functionality
As stated, the idea behind SecureSafe is nothing new, even if the app does tend to do it better than most. Essentially, it allows you a space in which to put such vital information as your Internet login details (the Bank, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) for easy sorting and safe storage. You can also attach files if you’d like, which can then be sorted into distinct categories. All of this is, of course, under extreme lockdown. How big a lockdown? How about text message based 2nd factor authentication and AES256 encryption double transport protection? We thought that might do.
The coolest thing about SecureSafe though is its online portal. The app can be accessed at any point in time via your browser and the SecureSafe website. All you need is your account information, and you can readily plugin new data points, including new passwords or uploaded files. All of these changes are automatically encrypted and synced between the Web and your phone, making the whole process easy as pie. This is a massive step forward from other apps that we’ve seen with similar features, and we cannot accurately tell you how much time it saves: SecureSafe has done something truly marvelous by offering this level of integration.
Design and Layout
Best of all, the app looks bloody amazing on both ends! The iPhone app itself has obviously been very well laid out, and we had no problems navigating its features, options or security controls. Likewise, the online portal is drag-and-drop simple. We very greatly appreciated the fact that we’re not required to do a thing to get both ends to sync up. Simply go about your business, and SecureSafe will take care of all the hard work. And when your users are lazy but concerned—like us—there’s no better way to design an app!
Best of all, though, SecureSafe is completely free in the App Store. Yes, you heard that right. You’ll not have to pay a thing to use the app and its services, which means you can go ahead and lockdown all of your vitals today without a single pence paid. That’s a bargain if we’ve ever heard one, and with all the app’s other boons included, we can’t recommend SecureSafe enough.
SecureSafe requires iOS 4.2 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
