Guard My Angel: iPhone App Written Review

Here lately it seems that we’ve been favoring the sort of apps that add or improve the quality of your life over those that simply give you a new high score to beat. We figure we might as well not break the trend now, which is why we’re bringing you Guard My Angel by Cayo-Tech Communication. The app provides you with a quick and efficient way to safeguard yourself from unwanted attacks or assaults while out and about. Furthermore, it gives your relatives and emergency contacts that much more peace of mind when you’re in danger. If that sounds like something you’d like to know more about, simply slide on down below the break!

Concept and Functionality

We’ve all been there: It’s late at night, and you’re faced with a long walk back home from that party. You think you’ll be alright, but you really wish there were some way to ensure that others knew you were possibly in danger. Now, thanks go Guard My Angel you can!

The idea is simple: if you’re heading out, and you don’t quite feel secure, just set the length of time that you want the angel to watch over you, and then hit the go button. The app will wait the set length of time for you to then slap the giant “I’m Okay!” button. If you don’t, or if you instead hit the SOS option, the app will immediately email, text, or social media alert your specified contacts that you haven’t checked-in again. It will also send them a map detailing the last known location of your phone. The best part about all of this? It doesn’t matter if your phone has been destroyed, as the Guard My Angel servers will still send out a message when the time limit has been reached. In other words, the app gives you fully functioning peace of mind no matter what life throws at you.

Design and Interface

Overall, we’ve got very little to complain about where Guard My Angel is concerned. The app offers one of the more simple interfaces that we’ve ever seen on the iPhone, which is fine with us. Large, handy buttons make it easier to start the service in a pinch, while the alert system requires nothing of you but to specify a messaging means and a contact recipient. In other words, Guard My Angel is extremely quick to set-up, and even easier to use. As it should be, in our opinion.

Overall Value

Need another reason to get Guard My Angel? How about the fact that it’s completely free! Sure you can upgrade the app for a buck later, but if you’re hunting for a bit of peace of mind right bloody now, there’s no better way to go about getting it. Guard My Angel is a brilliant utility with a clean interface and a lot of potential. In other words, this one comes recommended!

Guard my AngelGuard My Angel requires iOS 4.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.

Is there any reason why this app isn’t working, I am in Australia. I have entered my husband’s phone number in international format but no SMS is sent. I have also tried the SOS feature, it says message sent but nothing comes through on my husband’s phone
    Thank you
