The Facial Massage: iPhone Written App Review
Life is stressful, and it can take a toll on your face and skin. The new The Facial Massage iPhone app is by Paula Monaghan, and it’s designed to help you relax your facial muscles, improve circulation and bring new life to your skin, all through simple, at home, self facial massage. So, take a deep breath, grab your favorite facial oil or moisturizer, and get ready to dig deep into this awesome beauty app designed specifically for women (men, you’re welcome to try this too).
The main event in The Facial Massage iPhone app is a 20 minute video. This beauty video is a guided massage for your face, featuring soothing narration, relaxing background music and a constant visual of someone completing the massage regime.
I’ll be honest, at first I was a bit skeptical. But after a few minutes of following Monaghan’s insanely simple and effective facial massage directions, I did feel noticeably calmer, more serene. It was like I never noticed how much tension I’d been carrying in my face, until I spent a little time releasing that tension.
It’s too early to tell if this simple new facial massage regimen is doing much for my face, but the instant effects of this program are mind-blowingly cool. Ladies (and gents) if you’ve been looking for an inexpensive way to give your face a bit of sparkle, or just need some relaxation (and be honest, who doesn’t?) then you’re going to love this beauty app.
The Facial Massage iPhone app is rounded out by a few help files, featuring tricks and tips. I did find myself wishing you could pause the video and leave the page then come back where you paused. A few diagrams of the facial pressure points or diagrams demonstrating the moves would be nice, too.
Layout & Design:
Navigating The Facial Massage iPhone app is really quite simple. Stress free, if you will. Which is just fitting. The app launches the video automatically when you open it. So you won’t have to fumble around with buttons. During the video you can pause, zoom in, and go back to the beginning with a single touch. I did find myself wishing that the video would rotate to landscape orientation for easier viewing, and hope this feature is added to the app in the future.
Otherwise, the video content is clear, easy to understand and follow. I’m at a bit of a disadvantage since I’m wearing glasses today. Again, a slightly larger viewing option would have been nice.
At just $1.99, The Facial Massage iPhone app is probably the cheapest beauty product you’ll buy all year. While the app does make some pretty wild claims about its ability to make you “wrinkle free,” I think the relaxation aspect of the app makes it well worth the price. So go ahead, get your facial massage on. This app certainly delivers plenty of food for thought.
The Facial Massage iPhone app requires iOS 4.2 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
