Sudoku PDQ: iPad Apps Written Review
Are you tired of playing the same old boring Sudoku? Do you wish there was something else you could tickle your fancy with, some new variation that involved loads of online multiplayer, immense strategy, but yet all the same numbered fun that you’re used to? If so, then you’ve come to the right place! Sudoku PDQ by the developer of the same name offers all of this and more. It’s free for a limited time only, and if you’re looking for more of an incentive to give it a go, you’ll find our whole review listed out below. Starting with:
Concept and Gameplay
The idea behind Sudoku PDQ will look familiar enough to those that have already had the chance to play the classic puzzling game. In fact, at first glance the game appears to be just another rendition of the age old title. However, Sudoku PDQ is much different in a number of key areas. To begin with, the app is mostly focused with online play. You’ll be pitting your skills against other players found by joining tables. Once inside, the game operates like so: You’ll be given only so much time to find and place a correct number. You do so by tapping the digit, analyzing the board, and then placing the item. Do this quickly enough (and with the correct placement) and you’ll get some serious points. This ends a round, and as the rounds progress, he or she with the most points at the end is the winner. It’s that simple, but yet it’s endlessly complicated. In essence, it’s like using the Sudoku framework, but with very different rules and strategies involved. You’ll need to reinvent the wheel, and to be honest, it’s a heck of a lot of fun.
Design and Graphics
Best of all, Sudoku PDQ looks pretty darn good on the iPad, too! It makes heavy use of the classic casino felt and velvet aesthetic, but to good effect. We liked how simple the interface is, as it makes it quite easy to place your numbers and enjoy the game. The title even comes with an in-depth walkthrough to help you adjust your strategy from tradition Sudoku to the more complicated ways that matter within Sudoku PDQ.
We’ll spin it to you this way: Sudoku PDQ is completely free in the App Store for a limited time only. As such, it’s perhaps the best value we’ve seen to-date for the dedicated Sudoku fan. If your’e in that league, and are desperately looking for a new game to play with, we can’t suggest anything over Sudoku PDQ. It’s inventive, it’s easy to figure out, and it’s absolutely entertaining. So all in all, grab it while it’s hot, have a lot of fun, and be sure to pick up some quality strategy along the way!
