iDrate: iPhone App Written and Video Review
You know, it could just be the fact that we live in the fittest state in the Nation (Go Colorado!) but we really do make an effort to stay as healthy as possible. We can’t brag about it though, as we’re hardly the only ones doing so. In other words, if you’re trying your best to stay in shape and healthy, may we humbly suggest the application iDrate by developer Locassa to help you along? The app makes it simple and gorgeous to keep track of your hydration levels, and if you ask us, it even makes it fun. So without further ado, slide on down below the break to view our whole review of this water application for the iPhone!
Concept and Functionality
Despite the fact that it’s an application with so many beneficial health aspects, iDrate is really quite easy to describe. The app acts as an all-in-one hydration tracker, allowing you to easily and efficiently check how well you’re doing as far as your water imbibing habits. With every drink you drink, you simply slide to the appropriate amount within the app, and iDrate does the rest. The app tracks how much you’ve already had for the day, and then tells you how much more you’ll need to drink. It also gives you an actual time estimate for when you should have your next drink of water. iDrate will even adjust what it projects based on your sex, which you set at the beginning of the application’s life. Combine all of this with multi-day tracking and reward medals to encourage you to keep up the good work, and you’re looking at an app that’s every bit as useful on a personal level as it might be in the hands of a training professional.
Design and Layout
We have to admit, iDrate looks pretty great on the iPhone, too! It’s got a killer, simple interface that makes it unbelievably easy to setup your hydration tracker. Just select your sex and then get to entering! The simplistic sliding controls and behind-the-bonnet tracking ensure that you don’t have to lift a finger, other than those required to drink a glass of water. All in all, we can’t find a darn thing to knock the app about in terms of its raw design: This one is a real looker, and we’re quite pleased with it.
Best of all, because iDrate is completely free in the App Store you’ve got zero reason not to download it if you’re worried about your hydration. The app is so simple to use, so great to look at, and so healthy when put into practice. And without any overhead involved, we’d be dumb not to recommend it to the health-conscious iPhone owner. Go ahead and snag this one now—you really won’t regret it!
iDrate requires iOS 4.2 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
